Pretty impressive. Does look like a serious workout. I wonder if she has to keep getting her skis wet to reduce friction to keep going.

That was an impressive video. A couple of thoughts. 1st, I may just try this someday! Second, use O-L-D skis. I suspect you'd never want to alpine ski with them again as this would trash the bases. 3rd, I don't suspect getting the skis wet helps for more than a couple of feet (inches?) once you get beyond the sand that is wetted with each wave. Finally, I don't want to do this with a harness like she was using. I suspect this would be far more pleasant on the lower back if she used the sort of harness that you snowkite with.

Love the style!

Zebulan (crabnebula) from NH use to do that on occasion. He wrote about it once and what impact it had on the bases and edges and longevity but I don't recall much more than that and have neither seen nor heard from him in years. Maybe Feyd can chime in if he still sees zeb.

They do make waxes for the sand... It's a bit different, trashed a few Goodwill children's skis in my youth skiing sand in New Mexico

Sponsorship makes trashing gear a lot easier. Never ask him to "stone grind" anything. Quite impressive and that opens up unbelievable terrain.

Formica is apparently the base of choice for sand riding.

Great video, one of the best I've seen in years. Impressed by his prowess and by the film maker...

As one example, The camera closely following him and preceding him through jungle. Think about how that was done..

Great find Chris. Thanks for posting.
