NAPKA Pilot Number (Letters)

So as I'm about to register for NAPKA finally... I know long overdue. I have a question if there a system to the prefix letters? And if not, are we limited to K, KC, US, XKC, XUS?

Can someone explain what each stands for / means?

You will use US since you live in the US. Then add your NAPKA number set. You can pick any number that isn't taken.

KC for Canada is brought over from the European race system.

NAPKA had an "R" in the name originally. The origins of the club were an attempt to create a racing circuit in North America. It morphed into a club to support organising events and working out access issues. A whole lot of the NAPKA literature is a throw back to the strict rules of racing. The new focus on number plates is for them to be easily read by bystanders. Lots of room for creativity as long as you don't plan to race formally.

We are dealing with a similar issue locally. We will be required to show numbers in our local park this year. Doing so makes a lot of sense for us that are " insured " pilots and for the local council. NOW if a local complains about our behaviour they will be asked to supply the pilot's number. If they can not identify us by number then WE, the local pilots will not be brought up for the complaint.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Thanks BladeRunner. I wasn't sure, and wanted to look stupid over be stupid and just choose. US314 it'll be, and then I'll just have to "accidentally" end up with some decimal point shaped mud on my number plate.

Thanks Ken for answering his questions. Busy as can be currently.

The only thing I will add is that the "X" in front of anything means expired member. Expired members numbers are retained for 6months or so unless otherwise requested then the number becomes available for use by any other pilot, new or old.

Thanks for your support and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask via email Fordtrkfan at yahoo dot com or call my cell, number is in my sig.

Just did a Google search and looked like 55 was taken in the past. It looked like it was available when I registered :puzzled:

Guess I'll find out.

I have a couple other kites that have a few tricks up their sleeve that will keep me in close pursuit. :D

And don't worry, I'll be very comfortable in the offshore stuff.

Hoping for wbb in fall

Because you can't drive it? (Though I wonder if that's too slow or fast). I went with mine to satisfy the math nerd in me (and because no one would ever get a reference to e)
