Yes. I didn't attach mine to the board but it was easier to rest it on the board. The original one was too small to power the SUP very well so I made a larger one. It was rather awkward but worked fairly well. Still rather slow because it was pretty small as well - about 2M. It probably worked better than kites of that size, however. This video shows the larger wing I made and shows how I held it by hands to turn. It folded up as well.

it was very difficult to do with nasawings, but easy with a street star

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_RvQm_oKMc&t=

i think the kite will relaunch with enough wind
it s perfect for supers as you can fold it on the roof in seconds , what inflatable kites cant do

with harnees and 4 beaufort it will be fast

the best for a street star would be a four lines kite controller ( wich allows the kite to depower )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEsNbfRqEl0

if it doesnt relaunch under long lines you can shorten the lines and relaunch

It seems like he quit making the 4 line controller and doesn't sell them know. I wonder if there was a problem with it.

Hey Alf,

Pretty cool. This is sort of a mix between a kite and a sail, but works well.

https://vimeo.com/291124909

Going off the wind is harder with a SUP though. For my kayak it goes off the wind pretty well.

i never could do better than sidewind

I am not sure why SUP are not as good as Kayak. I can get may 20 degree off the wind with SUP, maybe 60 with my kayak. This shows a good kayak track. The kayak does slip downwind because It has no rudder or centerboard, though I am getting better at it all the time.

You can fly them so they are kites - not sails. :D

They are purely downwind sails, but they go off the wind quite well. My kayak has no rudder or fin, but I can sail 65 degrees off the wind using the round sail. It is basically a parachute but the flexible round spar gives it a much higher l/d than a parachute. Flown as a kite it is not very easy to control but I didn't try it for long - it was just an experiment.

Kites in a train have been used for a while with buggies at least. We had one guy with 3 stunt kites in a train pulling his buggy at Jibe a few years ago. It is at about 1:35 on this video. I have never seen a train used with SUP though.
