You can just mark it as "advanced" or "technical" and make it a different color. We definitely broke new ground this year. We didn't have much perfect on shore wind, but the side shore stuff was a blessing in disguise because that is really what allowed us to get all the way around to see the pier.

one more video - JIBE scrapbook

here is one more loooong video (18 1/2 min) that I put together with snippets from all the video I have as another overview from the event - again sorry to those that I didn't catch on video.
I have one part when I was zig zagging down the beach following Chad and you can see the start of sand-megadon (and I can hear a bad bearing). Okay Chris I didn't show your rookie move;) (too far away on the video) but i did include my own line wrap going backwards, not watching enough and drove over a slack line. A mix of a lot of different things in here, some bits that were in the other videos and then more from various times I caught other people on video. I also threw in some shots from the abandoned amphitheatre on the island - very Jurasic Park.
Watching on youtube you can change the settings to higher definition - Here is a JIBE scrapbook

Incredible video Mark! So many good clips of what JIBE is all about. Already counting down the days to 2016.
Sand-magedon was insane. A 2m kite in 30 mph wind was pure bliss:D. I should be drawn and quartered for not getting my vids together yet. I promise I will get it done. :embarrased:

thanks for the comments - the week was such a blast and I have tons of video but most is myself bugging and that's not too exciting for others to watch, more fun to try and get pictures of everyone else having a good time.

Take your time on the vids Jason, we'll need something to watch this winter to get us excited for 2016!

When I was walking my buggy into the wind after packing the kite up there was another buggy that I chased down with the back of the seat toward the wind it was picking up speed heading for the ocean. Too bad the wind dropped down a bit for the actual start of the minion race, there was enough just a few minutes earlier to really get us rolling faster. On a side note, I have chased my buggy a long way across the playa (Ivanpah) and have seen a few go quite a distance when they get rolling in the wind and they just keep picking up speed so within a short time they are too fast to catch unless they slow with a lull in the wind. And by then you are usually out of breath from the run that you don't quite get to it before it starts rolling again like being toyed with

It was entertaining seeing one of the pieces that I caught on camera and used in my vid from you're point of view Mark. The scene right at the rise of sand-magedon 12:45-13:10 you can see me in the background deploying the kite-killers which is also 1:06-1:21 of my Golden Isles video... I always think that kind of stuff is fun.

Hey I totally forgot about that - it was heading for the ocean.

I also forgot about my buggy ejection that wasn't on video - but that did not involve a kite and was off the beach so it doesn't count as an official OBE but it was spectacularly stupid.

Like all the buggy gatherings i go to - the gang is always top notch and that's a big part of the event. Jekyll is also an easy sell for those thinking of bringing a partner, spouse, family etc with so many other non kiting activities to do and enjoy.

and I'm not paid to promote Jekyll either

Haha, I did a ton of them when the wind whipped up to the 20-25mph side shore stuff. It was high wind, but still smooth. That was the day before Sandmageddon. Several of us got some really huge jumps in that day. The porch swing just started as me trying to see how low I could get my butt to the ground without touching and still pop back up to my feet. They are really fun to do when the wind is right and you don't feel like testing your ankle strength on the high flying stuff.

I didn't get nearly as much video this year as I did the previous year. I tried mounting my camera on my forks and most of my video is just a muddy mess after a minute or two of power slides. I think I will explore a rear axle mount for the future and get the camera up high to stay out of the rooster tails.
