That's the sort of picture, and where I've been and are presently doing, that is starting to get me into full gear, knee pads, helmet, and such.........

depending on wind speed and flying static, you gotta respect kite size.

gotta.

Yes!!! After my two hour session I have alot of respect for the kite and wind. I had to resist the temptation until I thought the wind was right and I can tell you that I would have been making a trip to the ER if I had not waited. I had the 3m out the day before and it was all I wanted in 20mph winds. The winds while I was flying the 5m was between 14&16mph. What a burn(whole body workout). But I will have protective gear for my my next beach trip!

50' scudding on the beach sounds like a blast!

"The winds while I was flying the 5m was between 14&16mph."

Between 14 & 16... could you please ship some of that buttery wind to me, I'll pay the shipping and handling!

It was a blast! It was the most I have got to fly it since I bought it. As far as the wind it is on its way:lol:. Don't know for sure what the wind was but that is what the wind alert for IOP was saying;). Going to give it another go tomorrow ;) if the wind is favorable.

Scudding is great fun. It teaches you a whole lot about balance and kite control. It is a huge safety tool as you progress. Feeling comfortable scudding out of a bad situation can save your butt down the road.

Sometimes folks get stuck at the scudding stage . It's fun and combines lots of skills but is really just a step towards riding.

If you like scudding you are going to love really getting into motion. Enjoy this stage and get good at it but the best is yet to come !

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

I have really been watching the guys out on the water this week and would love to give it a try later on down the road. I am really limited as to where and how much I can fly in the mountains as there is alot of gusty winds. Who knows a buggy might be in my future also as I have the means to build my own.
