Anybody in the Keys?

I'll be in Key West from Friday, June 8th-15th. Anyone want to hang out? I've never flown on a beach before :D

Im pretty sure your not gonna find a real beach in Key West to fly on.
Maybe a launch site to go out on the water. But if there is a beach someone tends to slap up a hotel and privatize it.
May have better luck north of K West in the middle keys on state land. Might be wrong good luck w/ that.

What was that show that used to be on Discovery or something, where the two morons go off and kitesurf everywhere? I recall it being really boring, but there was an episode where they go island hopping on the Keys. Looked awesome.

The only reason I fly now is that show. Was kinda living in my cocoon all content and all. But than saw it once and knew I had to do that. Since then I have found out its about the kite and being a pilot......1st and foremost. After that you add the disciplines and learn it all, at least what interests you. I cant wait to try the water, but the ATB is a blast and haven’t realy buggied yet…..I have a full agenda now, lots to do. This sport has so much to offer... Anyway there is like 5 episodes of that show and my cable co. has replayed them every sun morn 6-7am for like over a year... and I cant help it, I put it on just out of habit at this pt. and to desensitize my wife. It’s like Rocky Horror in my house.. Do a search of 7 sport Islamorada good start for info before you go to the conch republic….enjoy!

I've spent a fair amount of time in the keys. Flying on a beach? Highly doubt it. Getting on the water? Absolutely. Lots of launch sites all thru the keys. When I head to the keys it's usually for fishing or diving. While you're there make sure to take part in the traditional Duvall crawl

Duval Crawl? I've always wanted to do that, but its a 21+ thing. Not sure how strictly they enforce that…

Welp, I'm here! Trip was a little rocky, but I made it in one piece. Unfortunately, our bags haven't made it here yet at all. No big deal...

I want to kite surf!!!

Yep! Four flights came in with no bags, ours being one of them. And the airport is like one room and there was only one guy unloading planes, working the tarmac, and doing customer help... So we called the airline and got everything sorted out :) so now that that's taken care of, I need to somewhere to rent kite gear! I'm itching so badly to get out :(

+1 for sombrero reef. One of our favorite spots to dive in the keys!

I saw the coolest thing ever in Key West. It was a coral shrimp. They are the size of your pinky nail but with a vibrant color. Make sure you don't make the same mistake I did. Buy an underwater camera!
