Can we do something special for AJ?

As we know, the body of Charles "Action" Jackson was recovered on September 21, 2011 after a terrible kitesurfing mishap on Hatteras Island. Though I rarely saw the man personally, he was a shining specimen of a human being and a committed kiter to boot. His contributions to the sport and to this forum are innumerable; being one of the longest-standing members of the board, he has called PKF his home for almost 10 years. He has helped so many before my arrival here, and when I did join in, he helped me too.

I just thought maybe it would be proper to write a few kind words on his profile. A simple Rest In Peace, because I feel that there are many out there who miss him. I'm not exactly sure what to put, as I don't feel that I am the proper person to honor his life in that way. Feedback please, especially from the admin.

Thank you.

I thought of Brother A.J. today as I buggied amongst the Kitesurfers at Va Beach.

He did get the full page treatment on the last page of THE KITEBOARDER MAGAZINE vol 8 #5.

I keep it on my desk.

I wasn't aware of that. What a nice thing for them to do. Does that invalidate my post?

I'm sure PKF is just busy - they'll see this and I think would do just what you suggested....seems appropriate to me.

It catches me off guard when I'm reading an old thread and come across a post of his. Maybe we try the "Rest in Peace" for awhile and possibly something even better comes up later.

We had a kite release at WBB in rememberance of A.J. It was a bio-degradable kite that we signed then released out to the ocean. It went on for a very long time. Several people there knew and flew with A.J. at some point in their kiting years.

This would be a nice way to pay tribute to him here on PKF

RIP AJ...never got the chance to visit him down in texas when he lived there. I always envisioned an incredible time flying with him on the beach. Always enjoyed his company at Ivanpah. He was truly a selfless dude. Much Love!!!
