burritobandit, I received the package today. Kite looks great! I am assuming that the knots in the thick lines were placed there for fine tuning,
correct? In other words, I should not mess around with those...

If you're talking about the knots on the leader lines (thick lines) at the bar, then yes. Those were put there for tuning and shouldn't be moved
unless the tuning is somehow out of whack.

Exactly. The beauty of the Blade IVs is that you can adjust the lift, just not on the fly like a depower. When riding on the buggy, I set the AAA
settings to the lowest or low lift which got me excellent edge of wind performance and speed across the window.
I've got someone asking about the 4.9m, so Tridude, I think your coaxing may have helped!

I like the Blades (B3, B4 and B5) because they are just amazing. The very quality that some people fear (incredible lift) is exactly what I've loved
about Blades since the B III came to be. They last forever, they are as reliable as anything you can find, the bridles don't tend to snarl, and the
kite itself is nothing shy of top quality. And the lift is fantastic if you are willing to deal with it.
On the other hand, Flexifoil has done a lame job of on-the-fly depowering. The AAA system is great, but if you want to have on-the-fly depower you
need to make it yourself. It's a project, but a very satisfying one. Flexifoil is really missing out by not selling these as adjustable AOA kites, but
you can make one in an hour or less.
If none of you guys want the 4.9, I might pick it up and make it an on-the-fly depower system. It's a great kite and can keep you smiling for many
years.
