no, but i figured you wanted to stay in a hotel than pitch a tent.

option #1 : hotel / motel
option #2 : KOA
option #3 : buggytown / tent

Buggy camp has water and power (110, 30 amp) for campers. Motel 6 is the same price as microtel but bigger rooms and nicer people.
I just got home from the trip after nabx and will work on the itenerary for pot luck times and locations. We also post times to meet at the beach with tides and winds in mind.
Now I will tell you jimmy and I have buggied our ass off the last two days at Sunset Beach. It is going to be a great summer at Sunset Beach.

Buggycamp is the no frills site as far as amenities.
However it is the central meet location after a day at the beach.

Yes it is convenient to stumble back to the tent!
We have toned it down some though. The deer, and the bears were complaining.

We typically cook a communal breakfast each morning.
When there isn't a potluck scheduled we (those at buggycamp) chip in for dinner.

Great group of people on the beach, and back in camp.
If you are on the fence about coming, just do it.
The memories will last forever.

You gonna eat that? :o

What are the temps like on the coast that time of year? Up here we're either in a heatwave or we're dodging snow already.

Typically in the 60's, same as most of the summer. Out heatwave will put us up into the high 70's...lol Too cool for some, but ayeee like it.

expect mid to hi 60's for the air and mid 50's for the water.

Also, if the wind now is any indication, it should be a good year for wind!

It was actually pretty nice here today. Wind was right around 12-15 NW (stuck with only 1 kite for over 3 hrs:) and sections of the beach have improved since last week. Although the entrance is still a challenge. Hopefully the county will do some work on it this week in anticipation of the 3-day holiday.
