Saint Simons Island

We have such a cool spot here...I had my first really good day of steady onshore wind, 14-17 for hours at low tide. Now I see how good this can get! The sandbar right off the beach has merged with the main beach to produce a gentle arc of maybe 2 miles or so. With SSE like yesterday it feeds right into it, enabling us to stay away from too many people...at least till the season hits and the tourists show up with their fried chicken and coolers and cheap plastic #@%$#! from wal-mart.
But I digress...powerful runs, a tack, I even got pulled backwards and recovered!! I'm 8 years old again!!! I love this stuff!!

Johnny has really been ripping it up out here. Last week the wife and I were at a library fund raising dinner at a beach side hotel on St Simons. Shortly after sundown I stepped out onto the beach-side terrace to take a phone call, and when I look up towards East Beach, there's the Rage 3.5 buzzing around and I knew it had to be Johnny. Now he's working on up-wind tacks...

Thanks, teacher...Friday, 4 hrs in the bug blazing runs, emergency stop practice day. Sat, another 4 of survival flying...another 360, half on purpose! really could have been on a 2.2-2.5...Today, a few runs on a friends 2.2 windwing trainer...beautiful out there! wild and blowing waves of sand down the beach...I was too spent from the buggy to windsurf today. Yes, I know....Easy, kitedog.
