Kite / Kitesurf gear needed for Restaurant Decor

acampbell - 28-1-2009 at 09:34 AM

The new manageemt at Bleackbeard's Restaurant that overlooks Kite Beach here on Jekyll Island is re-vamping the entire facility and going with an "extreme beach sports" theme for the decor. What they are asking for...

KIte sails of any kind- can be damaged beyond repair or otherwise worn.

Same with any kiteboards, surfboards

Any kind of gear, control gear or paraphanlia no longer used

Action photos of any powerkiting on land, surf, etc. that they can enlarge into posters and such. Imortalize yourself!

They will pay shipping for anything donated and in some cases outright purchase gear if there is residual value and it can be useful. They are happy to promote and display brand-names, shop names, URL's etc.

JIBE attendees will recall that Blackbeards was very generous to us at the group dinner and they will host us again for JIBE 2009 in May with new menu, new head chef and staff. They recognize the tourism value of kiting on the island and are openning their doors to all kiters for use of restrooms, free ice from the bar for our coolers, etc.. They are re-doing the lounge to make it inviting for post-session refreshment and hanging out- damp clothes and flip flops no problem. They are also expanding service on the beautiful wood deck that overlooks Kite Beach.

Restaurant patrons enjoy watching kite buggies zipping by on the beach and the kiteboarders on the water. This is great way to promote the sport so I hope people can help out.

Contact me for details or questions. Thanks

I have that 3.5m profoil that had the kitefix done on it. It is either DOA or needs some serious bridle tweaking. It is the pink color so would look good on the wall. I can go through pictures to see if there are any epic ones worthy of poster size.

Wow, that's a big ol' C isn't it? We have a local guy providing a 13m bow kite - let me see if there is room. Thanks
