hampton kiter meet

the first kite meet at my beach was a blast ,static wise anyway. south winds are straight down the beach. not much fun. But one day on an east blow we all gotta go.nice to finally meet up with some fellow kiters in this area, come out any time and fly!

sure was fun good thing I wasn't flyn the 6.5 when it hit

I 'll be there saturday and maybe sunday too! Hope it blows east I need some buggy time! Low tide is midday this weekend , so there will be beach to ride on.

the last time I was out there the flys like to ate my azzz up! I hope it has gotten better, cause it was no-fun that day.

Man ,I was in Va beach at the shop ,looking out the big bay door. Wind was kickin', it was killin me. Did you guys do ok? have you done any buggyin' yet? I was rollin around on the landboard tuesday ,but it wasn't any fun. so I went home. glad there was wind for ya', maybe sat. I will get some blow. Then there is always tropical storms this time of year ,and just before the storm is some kick- butt wind .Bring impact protection,and lots of small kites

Wind was good. I had fun. Flew NicS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s PL for a few minutes on his new handles (very cool lookin in person btw). I havent been in a buggy yet. Still itching too...lol. And I only have my 3m Beamer as a small kite. That 5m Ace is on the way to me It would have been fun to have it at the beach today though.

I have a side job this weekend so no flying for me this weekend. I am off tomorrow and friday though. Gotta work from Thursday @ midnight till about 6 or 7 friday morning so after a quick nap friday Im gonna be ready to fly again

ya need ta get yer butt in a buggy before JIBE. So ya will be able to hold yer own.lot to learn in a short time,but it's not that hard.I don't think the 5.0 ACE is gonna be your buggy engine,until you get real good and daring. we gotta get you a buggy bro'( or build one )

Yea Im broke as #@%$#! right now. Car taxes killed me. I shouldnt have even bought the Ace but I think I can get enough together to get a buggy in the next few weeks. Im working a side job the next few weekends so thats cash right in the bank

Only thing keeping me from getting a buggy besides money is a place clse to me to use it. Not too sure how often I would be using it.

there are a few places to ride and I'm always lookin for more. Hey dude landboards don't take up much room. But they aint cheap. I'll start a jasons buggy part stockpile at work. maybe the weldngod will hook you up w / a frame. I aint sayin it would be before JIBE cause it takes a while to get the parts, but I will start lookin through the scrap pile every day for potential parts.

seat material nylon webbing is easy to fab with ,but on my new one I'm gonna make a cordura and web seat .I will let you know how much the material is when I get mine.

I have got to get me a 7.0 blurr for the low winds we have been having lately.were not getting those 15-20s like we did last year. seems to stay at 5-10 w/ gusts to 15 if your lucky. If we could just get this high pressure system outta here ,maybe we could get a breeze. Static flying just doesn't get it anymore,I need to get in motion

sorry im packing for a week in WVA :singing: carting up the buggy + all my kites valley winds Have been known to flip campers with their awnings left out :duh:

I'm back, and tired. Winds were 10-15 for a while then shifted and picked up to 20+. I had a blast, made a few one way runs with the 4.7 and then flew my little aces, man I love those little kites.They are STRONG pullers in 20+ ,and they fly perfect on flexi handles and lineset. I'm gonna have to get a 5 or 6 meter ace for jumpin' ,so I'll have more float. Tomorrow Cristobal will be a little closer and the winds should increase and come out of the EAST!! Woo Hooo! I am gonna tear that beach up!:singing: We did some fishing today and caught 6 sharks ( one was a blacktip). It's like they Know a storm is coming. We have never caught any sharks out there, and today we catch six! What the heck am I laughing at ,I swim there all the time!:o anyhow jason if you get a chance , come on! If it don't rain I'm out there!

15-20 + and I was haulin azzzz. Clintopher was out there on his kiteboard, and got up quite a few times.Pulled off an excellent kite save ( I was sure it was gone)I let him try my rage in low power mode, thetn let him try the buggy.But when the power came on he wasn't ready for that.But in do time, guess he needs to get used to handles first.He uses a bar and a strop so he just isn't used to all that power on his grip. But he got the general idea.Wish you could have made it,it was almost perfect traction conditions thanx to Cristobal down to our south. Is it a bad thing to say" I got blown by Cristobal"?

on the down side ,I had some bad ass video on my flip vid-cam ,but a huge wave washed up on the beach when I looked up at the kite. I drove straight into it. Soaked me the buggy ,the camera (not waterproof) . when I got back to the "landing" zone,and dried it off. the batteries were smoking hot . It won't power on now, and my computer won't recognize it.I'm more concerned about the vids than the camera though

that cam was almost two bills edit: And the vids were priceless!

I've got a pile of aluminum parts to weld,and that gives off a tremendous amount of heat:flaming: I hope there is enough of me left in the afternoon to hold a kite down:sniff:

Hey ____, lookey what I found in the scrap bin at work, a set of forks!
, now the hard part is findin a chassis and real axle.

I've got a piece of 2x2x1/4 to make a headtube ,need to find enough for a gooseneck though. I'm still in engineering phase of chassis so it may end up being pipe instead of square tubing(my trademark). I already used pipe on forks so I may continue that trend.

Thats fine with me Donny. Is there anything you need me to go get now that you need?

Whet size wheels do you need me to get and can I get them from Harbor Freight?

Oh and Im 6' tall

nothin' now . wheels can be up to 8" exact. 8 and 1/8" fork spacing. It'll be awhile though, maybe spring. I have had my 2nd frame done for months but it ain't finished yet. We need to figure out what you are gonna use for a seat. nylon web? cordura? peace out
