Kitewing 2.0!

NPWfever - 18-5-2008 at 11:28 AM

After 3 days of popping stitches off a tent, and a 7 hour sewing marathon, it is done! And if I do say so myself, it's rather sexy. Rode it down the street on my skateboard, and it damn near ripped my arms off, so it's got usable lift.

My photobucket lit on fire turned inside out and morphed into the 4th dimesion, it may take a while to get it back, and right side out again, so I have to post these individually for now.

And it has a really nice wing profile, im pretty happy with it, again, it could use some battons, but I'm afraid I'd muck them up.

WOw!!! That was freaking awesome man!!! Props to you for having the patience and skill to do that man. You ROCK!

Way to go NPW! You are one motivated & ingenious individual

Just curious - How old are you?

dman - 18-5-2008 at 03:14 PM

I think Nick is seventeen now( sorry if I got it wrong ) and he is a very focused and thoughtfull young man. His quest for knowlege and lack of limitations is a sure gateway to invention and creative frontiersman like attitude that will surely bring us something great. My conversations with him have been idea riddled with probing about flying with paragliders and kiting that makes me wish I had been less interested in girls and partying at his age and more focused on the things that I find more important now as I have grown.

Keep it up Nick, I hope you get to fly soon. I know it will change your life as it did mine.;-)

F0rgiv3n: Thanks man, this is the best thing I've ever kicked out w/ a sewing machine so far (not trying to sound conceded) all my other stuff comes out looking like crap, but works, this one actually came out nice, and works. :D

Davinch: Thanks man! And I'm 16

Dman: I'm 16 but its all good. Just getting into girls and partying, but there is no rush like kiting and paragliding man, there just isnt. It should be about 3 weeks man! Then with any luck I'll have my P2 and be flying regularly by the end of summer.

Bladerunner: If I get into paragliding, the sky is no longer the limit! I will ride till I break something, then hit the buggy! :p

Thanks guys!

Dman has it right on. The young brilliance in Nick is not being wasted. I was definitely into the ladies but managed to nuture and realize a few innovative things.

KEEP FLYING BROTHER IT CAN ONLY TAKE HIGHER

I love the colors Nick! Interested in designing one for a Kitewing team rider?

NPWfever - 19-5-2008 at 11:41 AM

Wait...doing what? Like color scheme? Or like the actual wing?

Kiteboarder2B - 19-5-2008 at 05:12 PM

Both Nick.

I just finished up a 97 hour work week, I would love to build my wings and start implementing new design features, but If I am not working then I am usually eating, sleeping, or riding. Unfortunately riding for Kitewing and Dirtsurfer isn't glamorous......yet.

Let me know if you are interested, I'd be paying you outta my own pocket, maybe even with a little funding from Kitewing, I am working with the VP on it.

DO IT NICK!

PASSION MAKES THE HARDEST PROJECTS SEEM EFFORTLESS.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND YOU'LL NEVER WORK A DAY IN YOUR LIFE.

NPWfever - 19-5-2008 at 07:19 PM

a 97 hour week....? Is that even possilble....? Oh man, that is alot on my shoulders.... IDK much about kitewings at all, like I still haven't gotten down, I'm not too good at desing stuff, currently my Y-tube attachment system is duct tape, so I can't design anything, but I am more than happy to do something off a plan. I can cut tube, can't weld aluminum though.....I can weld steel, but thats about it. You know, unless KW comped me a tig welder. :D I can sew, so that about covers making one. So how would this work? Would it be like a here's money for materials go do it? And would I be making some $ for my work as well? But I can assemble stuff if you'd like, I'd love to.

Oh and goldendmd: For sure man, I want to open a kiting/paragliding shop/school. And then be behind the counter making stunters and single liners all day, and have some flags and such to cater to the masses, as well as some RC stuff. And do photography to fill in the gaps, it won't be the most glamerous life, but I'll never work a day in my life! Noodles and company isn't exactly the best job ever..... :P

Kiteboarder2B - 19-5-2008 at 10:51 PM

We can start with the sail. I'll send you a frame and I'd like a couple different designed sails made for it. We can work out compensation for materials and time. Save the frame for later.

NPWfever - 20-5-2008 at 09:32 AM

Ok, wow I can't believe this is happening! :D
