Silver Arrow 2 15m PRICELESS

DenisLaMenace - 16-3-2008 at 03:00 PM

I just had my second snowkite session with the SA2 15

When you are the first to ride: PRICELESS

When you are the one to ride: PRICELESS

When you park and ride when the LEI are just looping the kite to get power: PRICELESS

Then the wind picks up...

The LEI 12m (and so) are having fun, and I don't need to change my kite: PRICELESS

I dont even need to depower the strap: PRICELESS

You ride faster than anybody else: PRICELESS

And the wind drops again...

You feel you can go further than anybody else, because you know you'll come back: PRICELESS

SO........ how do you really feel about it :smug:

How do you think the 15m SA2 would work as a low wind kite for someone around 145 lbs ( ME  ) on land.
I would suggest I'm a bit rough on my kites. That said, I have never torn one yet :saint: Is that fabric strong enough to take a twig or 2 ? We " Ricky " our kites in trees a lot around here !

Hi Ken

I am 175 and I think this is enough for me on snow. The 19 which I never tested would probably just pull faster, but not sure if I would get more low end.

We need input from the other FS guys here.

You gotta be gentle with this kite, the fabric is so light that you can see thru.

I think there are too many big trees in British Columbia.:P

I look forward using it on mountainboard and water this summer.

Sounds great Buzz

Was this a demo or did you purchase one?

At 145 lbs, the 15m SA2 would be perfect!

I'm aware the fabric is extra light + see through. I was just hoping experience would prove it's tougher than it looks ????It's TO TRUE about all the darn trees around here :evil:Ripsession is getting so aquanted with them that we dubbed treeing your kite a " Ricky " . Although it was Dirtslides turn this weekend. :singing:Spots are very hard to find, Particularily for snow.

I bought one 3 weeks ago (on the used market but still pristine).

I know how you feel, Buzz. Nothing like Flysurfer SAs.....

Silver Arrow or Speed 2

I'm quit interested in moving up to a new kite and was wondering if I could get your advice. I have a couple of kites, both of them fly surfer "Rookies" (the precursor of the Cool). I've got a 6 meter for crazy windy days and a 9 meter for regular days. I find that I'm often a bit underpowered on the 9 meter.

I'm in my later 40s and am about 6'5" and I weigh about 225lbs. I'm not into jumping or anything like that. However, I'm a strong skier and I like to go reasonably fast.

I'm thinking of the Speed 2 or Silver Arrow. What would you recommend as far as model and size? I'm not sure whether to go 15 meter or 19 meter.

I think at your height & weight, the choice is simple; go with the 19m. As for Standard Cloth vs Silverarrow depends on how much you value the extra knot or so on the bottom end on land - it seems generally accepted that on water for riders over 200lbs there is no difference in range between the standard fabric and skytex. Inland, however, the skytex stays up better in the lulls.
