This place is a great place for kiteboarding, but usually only when cold fronts are coming or going. There are generally 2 wind directions that occur
here: One is NW to N winds, and the other is SW to S winds. For north winds, go to Folsom point by the picnic area. For certain water levels, there
are points along the water line that allow wind but create butter-smooth conditions that are totally awesome. For south winds, go to the Granite Bay
entrance and keep making rights, 2 actually all the way in until you get to the 5 degree ramp, and the best area to go from is the beach to the south
around the point.
