OMG, Just had my first session of snowkiting on skis. That was so good. Screw mountaing skiing, snowkiting rocks, it was like the best thing I have
ever done in my life, I was going crosswind so fast. It just feels so amazing, the crosscountry skiires were so jealous of me, muhhaha.
Kiting is Life.
Cheers

I remember the feeling of that 1st day well. I took the name Snowbird that night. Then I came home from Montana and found out how few days we can get
on the snow in Vancouver.
If you liked kite skiing be SURE and pick up a set of Coyote Rollerblades
I think a set of size 11 is on Ebay right now. Usually they go for under $100. With so little snow here they are possibly my #1 ride !!!!

Bloah. I'm jealous!
I wish we had enough snow so I could take out my board today! The ground is frozen though, so I can still use the ATB. :D We live 45 min apart yet you
always have more snow! It's not fair!

I was out testing the surface on 2 local ponds today. Depth is good but one was all tracked up by snowmobiles and the other was shear ice.
I skied a local park today but the windforecast was way off. Instead of building to 20mph it laid down to ~5. Road my 7m for about an hour but had
to work that. Not the best session but better than nothing.
Glad you got out. With alpine skiing you spend ~$75 and 8 hours on the mountain and maybe accrue 20 minutes of actual ski time. With kite skiing,
when I'm out for 3-4 hours at a time, I maybe don't ski for a total of 20 minutes.
Once you've got your gear its just great to be out and ski until you can't or the wind stops.

Beautiful day here in Edmonton too! Snow to spare! I'll send some your way Baluk. If I get out tomorrow I'll try to post some pics for you guys so you
can make travel arrangements ; )
Bloah - Today was my 10th anniversary flight (ten times, not ten years ) and I'm so hooked I'm kinda sad for the coming of summer since we don't
really have much around for ATBing or buggies. I'm turning my thoughts to the water - that way i can board in the summer at the same place I ski in
the winter!
Welcome to it - I can't even describe how magical this sport is.

yep !
I remember that first day I started kite skiing back in Jan 06, after 4 months of static flying.
I was riding on perfect frozen lake with just enough snow to get going fast, it was blowing around 25km/h and I was using a brand new access 8m.
feeling was so great, I just wanted more and more.
but you know what, there will be tons of more days like that.
this year I got into snowboard, so I could snowboard kite instead. another great feeling going this way.
greatest feeling I had so far, is when I did my first water start this past summer, and then I started planning on water.
kiting is a way of life, it's just like going back to my teens, it's my middle life crisis

bloah, welcome to the snowski kite addicts. :tumble:
We finally got a dump of snow here in Calgary but it is -20C without windchill (no wind yet)
I took snowbird's advice on the Coyote Rollerblades last summer and he is right on. They are great for summer skiing.
buzz, your comment about the mid-life crisis is right on. Kiting gives me a new thrill every session.
