kitesurfer - 19-12-2007 at 10:27 AM

I've been flying peter lynn kites since 1999 starting with the standards, then guerillas, phantoms, venoms and now waiting for the synergies to hit. i've only kiteboarded but now i'm considering a buggy. never ridden one or have any idea if i would like one, but i've seen the videos on kiteflix. i'm thinking the buggy might fill the light wind gap here in north florida. i found this site while researching the buggys. i'll try to read up here efore asking a bunch of stupid questions.

Hi kitesurfer....buggying is a great sport and opens up a whole new dimension to kiting...I have been kiting since 2003 and buggying since late 2005. I originally made a buggy before I had even seen one...I know stupid ehh, and when I did see a proper buggy I sold my first homey and bought a PL XR with kenda Scorpions on and thought it was the mutts nutts.....untill that was I saw bigger buggies and realised they cost the earth, and so started making my own and havn't looked back since.....there is no better feeling then rolling your own buggy on the beach, launching your kite and setting off.....and when you start passing production buggies, you get a kind of sweet smile come over your face...its a great feeling.....if you want to see what types of buggies are out there, prodution wise or home brews, then have a walk through my site there are over 4000 picture on there and should keep you busy for a while.

regards Carl

Where in North Florida?
I am in South Georgia, less than an hour north of Jacksonville, FL.
You are welcome to come up to Jekyll Island and try my buggy.

I should have added that yes, the buggy is a great light wind gap filler. I frequently drive by the kiteboarders on the beach while they stand around scratching their heads waiting for the wind to build. A couple of them keep a land board around for such occasions.

You are welcome any time. Low tide is best on Jekyll.
I had a kite trike. It will serve you well for starters. I had problems with the seat tearing but I think that is improved now.

Another plus on the buggies... is it's easier to keep warm on a winter day buggying than it is kiteboarding!

You already have the kite skills, so it won't take long and you'll be zipping up and down the beach. I really love the way the Scorpions handle with a buggy... but for a relaxed (but fast) run I switch to an Ozone Access2.

You'll love it once you get rolling along... welcome to yet another wind powered addiction :singing:
