San Luis Pass

San Luis Pass is Always a great place to ride / fly.
Now that it's starting to cool off at night, I need to make sure I gather up my camping equipment. Beach was in good shape, not too many people, and nice long runs were possible. Here's a link to some pics...

Pass this weekend had quite a few people at it (and I was only there from about 8am to noon on sunday). Big flat area near the opening was a bit torn up from the people that do donuts... The "road" on the beach headed to the pedestrian only area was chewed up with tire trenches as well. Was low tide, so where I could duck in between fishermen was smooth and flat. Once you cleared the poles... super smooth all the way through, and even found it nice the mile or so that I went after clearing the next posts.

Quite a few people out by the condo's where they set up the chairs.... so I made it a point to go nice and slow by there, then as soon as I was clear... I'd hit the accelerator

Winds started out at 15 - 20 mph, but was reading an average of 20 with gusts to 27 when I left. Gotta love it when there's wind early in the morning... as I'm an early bird.

Glad you had a good time out at the pass. I kind of makes up for last weekend. I sure will be glad when the stop tearing up the beach.

Also went down Sunday, keep missing ya Taper.
Got there about 12:15 pm , winds were 20--22 mph.
These are the highest winds I have buggyed in to date.
Put up the 3.0 pansh Legend. Had good runs with that kite, then the winds picked up to 27 sustained ---gust to 31.
Put up the 3.0 meter grabbed the 2.5 profoil---------Bingo
perfect kite for that wind. Logged 16 miles with my personal best top speed at 30.7 mph---also put the wifes 2.0 slingshot p2 up
and it was pulling me in the buggy to, my amazement quite well.
Not as fast as the 2.5 , but at a good cruising speed--was a blast.
Winds were also at 125 degrees to 135 degrees , i have found that to be an ideal wind wind for SLP---can get down and back with same speed. All and all Great day.
Hell I'm glad I'm a toys r us kidd---cause I don't want to grow up. Be Safe , Herb

Great here I am in Baytown with no buggy or kites. I will still head down and see AJ's new home on the water.
