The ultimate haul!!!

So, I was on FB marketplace a few weeks ago when I happened to come across a brand new 2011 Ozone Frenzy 13. I thought I'd add it to my collection and reached out to the seller. A very nice lady who I had a chat with about it and then made my payment. Turns out FB holds onto the money until she gives them a shipping label and then I verify everything was alright once I receive it. We had already made arrangements for me to come by and pick it up since it was only about 40 minutes from me. Since she still needed a tracking number, her husband suggested I come and look through their other kites and stuff and see if there was anything else I liked and I could pick it out free of charge and they would ship that instead. Free kite! I was so there! Turns out they both kited but due to age and medical issues they could not fly anymore and were having the hardest time selling them because everyone wanted them to unrolled and a ton of pics and questions that they just had trouble doing. So when I go there, they informed that that I could have it all! Take any kite stuff they had as long as it was going to someone who would still enjoy it and get use out of it. Turns out it was the Peter Lynn motherload! Some of them were still brand new in their plastic with brand new bars and lines. The old school ARC kites are brand new! Bomba's, Venom's, Phantoms, Scorpions, Vortex, ARC, Charger all in either brand new condition or very well taken care of. Along with it all several boards, spare bars, lines, a few kites I had never even heard of and harnesses, helmets... They told me I should have come by last week because they had a buggy that I could have had. OMG! They may be old, but IMO they are still some of the best kites I've ever flown from landboarding. I'm just honestly at a loss for words on how awesome this is and how much I appreciate them just giving me all this gear. I've never had so much kite stuff I could not see out the back of my SUV. LOL! This isn't even all of it. There is still more I will be going back for later this week. Now I just need to get my friends involved in kiting. LOL!

There are 3 of them. A 13, 15 and 18m. 2 of them are new, never opened. I've never flown any of the PL kites except for the Venom II, Scorpion, and Synergy and only the 16 and 19m versions. Looking forward to trying them all, especially since a few of them are still brand new wrapped in plastic. Still with their T-shirts, manuals and all. Also looking forward to trying out the Charger. I heard good things about it when it was new. And just this morning while going through some of the random bags with what I thought were spares or scraps, I found 2 new kites, an 18m Scorpion and an 18m Guerilla. I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with these. I know they're old but still gonna be fun. Biggest problem now is figuring out which ones I want to take out on a sesh.

i learned to kitesurf with PL kites and have flown *most I think... the charger was my favorite - that kite solved a lot of the "slow" complaints people had.

the phantoms really need smooth and consistent wind to be their best... i loved them on my landboard - very floaty jumps.. but, they have such a high A/R that they are really easy to get twisted up (hence the need for consistent AND smooth wind) ... if you get tired of messing with them in the kansas shifty winds, send em to me!! im close to a beach

they take a little finesse to get in the air sometimes, but they are gust-eaters and one kite has a huge wind range

did you snag any fixed bridles? i sure regret selling all my PL vapors - those were great in the buggy

I didn't unfortunately. He had a 5 pack of JoJo Race kites from 1.8 to 14m but he said he wanted to hang onto those because they were fixed bridle and he didn't need a harness if he wanted to ever take one out. I'm heading back today before I get some flight time in to grab the rest of what was left yesterday. My Speed 3 19m has really been my all round kite here with our questionable winds. Almost all of them I got have 3 versions. The biggest being a 20m Bomba. I cannot for the life of me find any wind ranges for any of these kites. Would like to know if I'm taking them out in proper winds... Not a big fan of being immediately overpowered.

Well when I went back to get the rest of the stuff they gave me he let me have the JoJo Race kites and a Flexiboard. I have never seen one of these things in my life! But looks very cool! The race kites are all in the JoJoParagliding bag back in the top left corner behind the Scorpion bag. This is the total haul from these amazing people. I am honestly so grateful they wanted to give it to me. he said he just wanted to see it go to somebody who will enjoy it and use it since he can't anymore.

locations?

did you ask them about where you could use all of this stuff?

BTW - djsiryn did these generous folks have any suggestions on where to fly? It seems they must have had some place nearby. As I recall you were struggling to find a good spot.

They didn't have anywhere to fly here from what they said. They were from South Carolina and had access to the beach and have not been in KS for more than a couple years. I have however found a really nice park with enough room to fly and ride. Winds are gusty most days, but I'm getting used to them quickly.

Swarner Park is about 30 minutes from me but has enough room to do some landboarding in, winds permitting. Though some days it's a crap shoot. Yesterday they were supposed to be 10-15, but ended up being less than 5 and shifting every few minutes. But some days are fantastic, I have not been out in some of the nuking winds 30-45+ we get here on occasion, those kinda freak me out a bit. LOL!
