Cinco de mayo @ SLP

If I can swing it I might be coming in on Friday and leaving on Sunday.
I can fly into Hobby, but have never rented a car from there. Is there a hotel that is preferred? Where is everyone else staying?
Looking for a post NABX fix, November seems a very long way off.

Hey Jason

I plan on camping on the beach. It would be great if you could join us.

Hey Jason c'mon down! I can't help you with car rental but it shouldn't be a problem, and Hobby *is* a much quicker drive to the beach.

The closest hotels are going to be in Galveston (you know the drill there). We're all camping and I can hook you up with a tent and blankets if you like. Terry Crumpler will also have his travel trailer and I'm sure would put you up in case of rain.

Looks like we're going to have a good crowd. Claxton is supposed to be coming and Jellis is already down there on the Texas coast somewhere.

Looking forward to seeing ya again.

After I washed off the thick layer of sand I lost about a pound or two. Talk about wind. What a weekend.

I understand about the sand. With the wind blowing hard all night, it seemed to find a way into everything.

Another good thing came out of the weekend... after AJ gave the wife a ride on his towed buggy, she said "Hmmm... You need to get one of these". :singing::singing::singing:

The food spread was one for the record books.... this was the first of many rounds of bugs, corn, mushrooms, artichokes, ....

What a great event! It came close to DBBB. We had a good turn out, good wind and great food. Thanks everyone!

Steve.

I had a great time too!

Unfortunately, "Bubba" had a rough weekend at the beach. Long story short: Bubba decides to take his Bigfoot truck to the beach on his 18 wheeler. The trailer shreds a couple tires on the way to the beach, the Bigfoot truck breaks, and the high winds blow in an unusually high tide and he sinks his 18 wheeler in the surf! :singing:

Great shots Dave! I have told several people about Bubba, now I have the evidence to prove it.
