We decided to rock up to the Great Salt lake beach for a couple of hours of buggy action on Sunday.
We decided to drive straight to the flying spot to see how the beach was doing. When we got there we walked a little ways onto the beach and sank down
about an inch.
Right, off back to Saltair to see if the wind was blowing.
Saltair can be a little strange for wind but it was on the way back so off we went.
At this time of the year the parking lot is open so we don't have to tow the buggies too far to get on the beach.
The wind was light but blowing in from the north so seemed pretty constant.
Up went the 9m chrono for me and the 6.9m Reactor for Jack.
Not much happened for the first 20 minutes but then the wind started to build to a steady 12-15 mph and we were blasting up and down the beach having
some great fun.
There were a few people on the beach just spending a nice day out and we had lots of interest in what we were doing which is always good for the
sport.
Anyway the beach condition was really good with only a couple of spots that had soft sand/salt. Maybe they will crust up nicely after we have had some
more sun beating down.
All in all it was a fantastic afternoon of buggying.

Whoop! I came close to calling you this past weekend to see if you were going to go. Sunday was my birthday (a mere pup at 56 btw) and I just
couldn't bring myself to ditch the family on that day of days. I noted the Northern winds which had me drooling.
Glad you and Jack had a great run of things!

Well I hope you had a great birthday weekend Steve.
It seems like a northerly thermal blows through most afternoons at about 10-15 mph.
