Local trivia...
Live the Night , a new movie by Ben Affleck premiers this week. It's a roaring 20's gangster movie and the scenes depicting south Miami were shot in Brunswick, where several blocks of the town were reset to the era. Several beach and road chase scenes were shot on Jekyll, with other shots in the surrounding marshes.

Shooting was in the fall of 2015 and they poured a lot of money into the local economy.

Well, I can tell you from experience that movie and TV filming productions don't always benefit an area. Part of my home town of Old Towne Conyers has forever changed due to several shows being filmed there. One of the changes is my father's business having to close the doors because the constant filming caused nothing but traffic and shutdowns for weeks on end with nothing but a few grand in compensation. It sounded nice at first, but when his shop lost the foot traffic of walk-ins due to the traffic, that really wrecked his income. He lost his home and he and his wife had to move to another state to live with my uncle for a while until he got another job and got back on his feet.
