**HELP** I am in need of a plastic rim - At IBX!

jeepersjoey - 25-3-2016 at 07:35 PM

Driving through Utah at 88 mph, there was an explosion.

I thought I hit something and immediately pulled over. I looked all over the car and everything was fine.

Then, I realized that one of the buggy tires inside the car exploded. When I got to Ivanpah I pulled it out and the entire plastic rim was shattered. The tube inside exploded and splintered the little plastic rim. Tire seems OK.

So...here I am at Ivanpah and I am in need of a rim and tube! Do you have one to sell?

This is the rim in question (before it exploded...silly!)

Try Kent at awindofchange. Or
Cory wind power sports vegas.

Unless they set up shop at Ivanpah... They are not an option this week.

I have a couple of those rims but not sure how to get them to you this week. If you are on your way back through Utah, you can stop by and pick them up.

I'm going down Monday morning and could go through SLC. Let's work something out.

Kent,

Syd is there now for another hour. She could pick them up.

Need three and tubes.

Could you call me 303-919-8579?

If your staying at one of the casinos they will accept packages if someone is willing to ship it to you. Might take 3 days or so.

We're in there like swimwear! I've got Paul's stuff in my SUV and am heading down to the playa tomorrow. I heard a certain lady set a female land speed record today.... :)

Paul, I had one extra with 12mm bearings. I didn't see this original post. Glad it worked out.

Btw, the order of failure is wheel cracked, then the bead blew out releasing the tube and with all that air in it with nothing to support it, the tube explodes. Glad it didn't fail while your were riding!

Congrats Tami! That's getting really really fast! Today was one of those once a year opportunities to get a pr or in your case a WR.:thumbup:

I was able to get going yesterday after Marc Potter (Kite Killer) provided a drill to bore the bushings to the required size.

I took a few runs on the Zooter and it worked pretty well.

I see that installing the neck at the lowest setting to get the longest distance between seat and pegs was NOT the right way. The front of the side rails were too close to the ground and the seat dragged...so I had to "hover" above the seat when riding.

I looked at it last night and made adjustments. I have a good feeling that I can get the Zooter to ride much better and make me feel confident to venture further away from camp.

Thanks go ALL of the IBX people (& Wind of Change) for their recommendations and assistance getting me rolling! I felt like a little kid standing around with a pitiful look on my face asking people "can you help me?"

Good stuff. Great Zooter. Great fun!
