So Wendy and I met up with Brandon/Abkayak down at Long Beach. Long Beach is a south facing beach. Winds were out of the west most of the day, so I
used that time to get Wendy flying static. It was a great time as she flew solo for the first time without ever crashing the kite. Don't know initial
wind speed but she could not hold down a 2m fb it was blowing so hard. So I let her fly my 1m profoil. Again she did very well. She learned how to
reverse lauch and has become proficient at packing and unpacking. So now I put her in a harness and let her fly the 3m Apex. The throw on this kite is
a bit long for her causing her to always pull the bar in. However she did very well here also and seems to prefer depower. She even caught a little
air unintentionally.
learning to fly
Eventually Brandon showed up as the winds shifted dead on and we got some good runs in. Brandon was on his 7m Apex and I was flying the 12m Phanny. Of
course I left my GPS at home but I am positive I topped my personal best yesterday. The beach was filled with little hills almost like mini dunes.
Made for some exciting riding. Winds had to be 20mph or so. One of my best kiting days ever.
Static flying a 3m Apex III
The end of a great day !! Of course I found all the puddles on the beach, hence the soaking wet pants.... :D 1oldkid - 26-4-2015 at 10:40 AM
Looks like it was a great day all around!
Congrats to Wendy! abkayak - 26-4-2015 at 10:49 AM
If you don't get your pants wet one way or the other...your doing it wrong
After that I drank my best stuff....lotta fun for sure cheezycheese - 26-4-2015 at 11:11 AM
Brandon, what would you say the wind speed was.? abkayak - 26-4-2015 at 01:08 PM
Blowing 13 when it turned south then built..20+when we got off
Love this place :Dssayre - 26-4-2015 at 01:48 PM
Sweet! You can always turn on kite tracker app or similar if you forget gps. That's all I use in fact. A separate gps unit would take away from
hard earned kite money. cheezycheese - 26-4-2015 at 02:15 PM

Quick cell phone clip. I know I know, no helmet. I forgot it on Saturday .
bobalooie57 - 27-4-2015 at 05:51 AM
Looking good Marc! I wouldn't have let forgetting my helmet stop me from riding, either! Looked a little gusty! But fun!ssayre - 27-4-2015 at 09:22 AM
I could tell from that short clip it must have been an awesome day. cheezycheese - 27-4-2015 at 11:49 AM
Yeah, it was great. Anytime you leave with sand in your mouth from getting splashed while smiling, you know you had fun.
Bob, it was gusty but manageable. I could feel it but it was never scary.
You can see me getting snatched around a bit. That combined with the mini dunes was awesome. The 12m was right in the zone. It must have inflated in
20-30 secs. rocfighter - 30-4-2015 at 03:33 PM
Mark is that 3m apex twichy? Or is it a smooth flyer? cheezycheese - 30-4-2015 at 08:15 PM
Haven't buggied with it Dave but you can see in the video it's pretty stable through the window. Predictable and easy to fly. Would like to shorten
the throw if I could.rocfighter - 4-5-2015 at 02:28 PM
I have the Apex II 7.5m and the few times I have flown it I really liked it.

Nice, real nice development jrhook - 8-6-2015 at 05:22 AM
Let me know when you're heading down that way again...looks like a great beach to ride if all the conditions line up - Jimbobalooie57 - 8-6-2015 at 05:32 AM
Lucky man, Marc! Careful, though, she might just outrun you in the buggy!cheezycheese - 8-6-2015 at 05:38 AM
She has the bug just like us. Keeps the kite in the car and jumps at any chance to fly. She gets out a lot on her own. She now has a 16m Venom.
So hopefully some buggy action will soon follow.... Psychotronic - 3-9-2015 at 01:20 PM
Yeah I wanna go, too! :Dabkayak - 3-9-2015 at 01:38 PM
once labor day passes there are no rules...all are welcome
even the 1le skin flyersKober - 3-9-2015 at 06:48 PM
Good to see kite addiction poisoning her blood stream ..... No more need for tandem rides .... Give her a buggy and get that Venom working !!!!gemini6kl - 4-9-2015 at 05:16 AM
nice vids, first time I'm seeing this thread. the apex 7.5 was my go to kite for over 5 years. a very reliable flier and pulls hard.

Well we were fortunate to have some great winds this weekend. With Wildwood a few short weeks away, Mrs.Cheezy was itchin' to pop her buggy cherry. So
Long Beach it is... It was a day of firsts for her. First Arc flight and 5 mins later, first seat time... :D
Some encouraging words...
Ready, set...
She's off...
cheezycheese - 20-9-2015 at 04:23 PM
All in all a great first attempt. I am not the best teacher, but by the time we hit Wildwood she will have an idea of what is going on. I'm sure she
will come home a better pilot as there is a lot of buggy knowledge at WW. wolphy - 20-9-2015 at 04:55 PM
Why can't I shake off the feeling that I missed out?! cheezycheese - 20-9-2015 at 04:58 PM
