First round of pics from IBX 2015

BeamerBob - 4-4-2015 at 10:59 PM

Many thanks to John Chilese for sharing his photography skills to help capture the moments at IBX 2015! This is his sneak peak, and there are many more still to come I understand.

Excellent photos I can feel the dust. Can't wait to get back to the playa.

So happy to see you all having a great time. So sorry I couldn't make it.

Nice! I liked the floating dog picture. A few more lei's this year I notice but they were mostly sitting on the ground which must have damaged them? Those towers in the distance look so bright. I bet you can see them for miles at night.

BeamerBob - 4-5-2015 at 03:27 PM

Redsky the LEIs seem to sit still on the playa unlike a fixed bridle idling on a stake. As lond as the wind doesn't change direction enough to catch under the kite, they stay perfectly in place.

On the bright towers, I'm not sure if you aren't sure what those are or if this is more dry British humour. Those towers are bright because they are having sunlight reflected on them from arrays of mirrors. So all you see at night are the electric lights illuminating the area like street lights.

Hehe, I couldn't help myself. If I used smileys then it wouldn't be dry. Those towers are kinda interesting to me though. The heat generated at the top is enough to vaporize the air someone told me.

Hope you had a good time.

Birds that fly through it go up in smoke. They are called "streamers"

Seriously! If only chickens could fly. :D

WELDNGOD - 4-5-2015 at 04:19 PM

What service. Buggying along and a roasted yard bird falls in your lap!:o

BeamerBob - 4-5-2015 at 04:24 PM

I'm glad I considered the dry British humor option! A week with Craig Sparkes has sharpened my senses.

Great pictures looked at them twice!

It appears that the IBX crew pulled of another GREAT event. You rocked it out!

Bravo  Bravo.

A testament to good organization and excellent management.

I'll be there soon because it's worth the long trip now. Next year maybe.

How can we purchase, from John, the original full-size photo?

His only contact info is on Facebook. We give him a donation for taking the pics but it would be nice to offer something for a picture you really appreciate. He says for everyone to feel free to download the full res pics.

jeepersjoey - 4-7-2015 at 04:53 PM

I saw that he only has one post on PKF so my post probably fell on deaf ears.

Is there a public email where we can tell 'em how much we appreciate his excellent work (and maybe request a Paypal account for him)?

Smeagol - 4-7-2015 at 05:59 PM

He's fairly active over on GWTW forum jeepers.
