MBS wheel nut tightness

Hi guys.
I still have not sourced 10" or 9" tire (tyre) replacements for my board, but have been riding the MBS 95 now for over a year. It's a great board and I am having a lot of fun with it.
One thing I've noticed is that occasionally, I have to loosen the main lock nut to the wheels, to allow them to turn more freely. I have oiled the bearings often and always clean up the board and wheels after a session (mostly on grass). But every month or so (assuming 2-3 runs a month), the wheels start to seize up and turn less and less freely. I put a few drops of oil and spin them, but that does not help (I use bicycle gear chain oil recommended for cycling as it's light and non-stick). The only way to bring the wheels "back to life" is to loosen the nuts a couple of quarter turns.
Is this common with MBS boards in particular?
I am using T1 hubs with standard 8" tyres.

Your nylock nuts are warn out. Get some new ones and that should fix the problem. Warn nylocks will slowly turn as the wheel turns, causing them to either tighten up or loosen up, depending on what wheel they are on. New ones lock onto the threads more solid so they won't turn when the wheel turns, fixing your issue.

Way too expensive for us Aussies. MBS shop online is quite reasonable.

Ahh thanks! That should do it then. I'll get new ones from Bunnings tomorrow.

Some electric scooters also have the same size tyres and tubes as landboards. I have shopped at http://electricscooterparts.com/tires.html You might find a similar shop down under.

A trick to stop that from happening is to have a very small amount of movement in the wheel. That keeps the bearing from touching the nut when turning and tightening it. Skaters do this all the time. A small amount will do. A quarter turn from touching will be more than plenty.

Also a step up from the nylon lock nut is the all metal ones. They have more "holding power" than the nylon insert. Browse the google images to get an idea of what to look for:

Hey thanks for the links and suggestions! I've replaced the nuts with metal ones and so far so good. You're right, they do tighten with the more turns of the wheels I do on the park (the old nuts that is).
