frankiter - 29-1-2014 at 09:10 PM

No worries there Ted, JIBE is already on Aunt B's calendar.

acampbell - 30-1-2014 at 12:10 PM

Great to hear. We were lucky enough to get a special shipment the other day (Thanks Frank and B!). Wife Joan is still marveling over how good they are. We keep them in the freezer and she rations them carefully.

Oh and the Kite Fort?, yeah that would be cool, too.

MyAikenCheeks - 30-1-2014 at 04:06 PM

Po Kite is in LOVE.............. but I'm sure he's coming.:evil:

We had the Jan. meeting of the OOBE field dirt divers a couple of weeks ago.
Po Kite, MyAikenCheeks and Michael Gaylan was in attendance.
Po Kite was unanimously re-elected as President of the Aiken Power Kite Club.
Congratulations Po Kite Trash. Looking forward to another great year under you leadership. ;)

The subject of an OOBE field "Chile Run" did surface but nothing firm was settled.
It's just flaky wind here most of the time but some days we get some mileage in the buggies. Thinking about it.

We have recently acquired a huge polo field. 1000'x1000' square to fly in but haven't used it yet because of cold weather, snow and polo players. Grass, smooth, nice place,
porta-lets. :D Dodging road apples can be fun.

The other in town field will be open to us in May. It's the infield of McGhees Mile Standard-bred race track. Horses we be gone by late April and the field will be open till Oct. It's possible to buggy around the 1 mile race track. This could be fun! Restrooms all around the track in the stables.

Have a small field behind the Ridgecrest Coffee Bar" to fly in as well. Non obstructed wind on 3 sides. Have buggied there. Great cup of "Joe" after a session. Bathrooms close by. That's a plus!;)

Urban kite buggy can be fun. There are many places to fly if you just look around.

I'm hurt and insulted that I didn't get an email... :(

Though perhaps I'm not an official dirt diver.

What's required for official membership?
An OBE at OOBE?

MyAikenCheeks - 31-1-2014 at 08:13 AM

Spencer,
Although I have not been in touch with the membership committee, I will
submit your name for membership into the OOBE Field Dirt Divers.

Yes, an OBE is a necessary rite of passage. And we all know that's not a problem at OOBE!
It may be difficult with your BBK QR. Work on that. A 15 foot scud with a face over will also qualify.
Must get up smiling with grass hanging out the side of your mouth.:D

You do have cred with your several visits to OOBE Field. That's a plus.
I believe that your are the most frequent out of towner to grace us with
your "Kiteness" at OOBE.:bird:

Your a great kiter and your equipment is first class. You have my vote! One more
and your in! Not a problem. I say what the heck! Let's do this!

That immediately made me think of REO's "Time For Me To Fly", that should be our community theme song.

frankiter - 28-2-2014 at 06:57 PM

Whew! It wouldn't be a mancation without the Kitefort.

acampbell - 1-3-2014 at 06:17 PM

Hey gang.
I took my lunch at Jekyll today and saw two foils up. Two locals. The sea breeze is starting to show up regularly now. It's awesome. Funny I was thinking about the kite fort today and made a note to check in with Jekyll Island Authority about that. It will be fine I'm sure. Chris I found the 90' bicycle lock.

Tomorrow morning I fix up the web site.

Can't wait to see y'all

frankiter - 1-3-2014 at 06:54 PM

The 90' bicycle lock has been found. Do you know what that means? The JIBE "security" force is reactivated.

Awesome Angus!!!

Proletariat - 6-3-2014 at 05:10 PM

Might I suggest standing all buggies on their side in a giant wall and then putting all the kite bags in the middle, thus creating a literal kite fort?

acampbell - 7-3-2014 at 04:41 PM

Sounds like Buggy Henge!

Demoknight - 10-3-2014 at 08:01 AM

Kite Fort should be all old busted 18m PL Guerillas and tent poles... buggies inside for chase lounge chairs. I need a cup holder installed on my bug!

Proletariat - 10-3-2014 at 06:55 PM

Now that's a mod I can get on board with. Van, get to work, please :).

Incidentally, I think dirtslide has one on his sweet ride.
