Aurora 15m

Smeagol - 9-12-2013 at 01:13 AM

So today at a local park I finally broke out the Pansh Aurora 15m to test things out, but didn't have much luck. I was using my Ozone Frenzy bar with 5th line safety, so I know the lines/bar are good as it's essentially brand new.

When I went to launch the kite the safety would engage and collapse the kite before it even had a chance to inflate/take off. Almost seems like the safety line needs another foot or two?

I seem to recall reading somewhere about folks having to add 8" extensions to the power line leaders on the kite to get it to fly right. Was hoping that might have been corrected, but maybe not.

anyone else experienced this?

I guess next time out I'll try some extensions on the power leaders or safety line to see if it helps any.

thx,
Mike

The safety line need to be 5m longer then your power lines.

As for adding the 8" to the front lines. I have read a report from someone, who has gotten the aurora to fly really well, that the line lengths need to be set with the trim and bar fully depowered, not at full power like every other kite on the market.

Are you learning why they sell their kites in three for one deals? Is it because only one in three flies?

8" extensions to the power lines and 5th line 5m or so (should have some slack)

There is also the niaboo mod.

Thanks all.

I see now my error, I completely forgot the 5m "End Line" pictured.

5m slack seems like alot but I'll give it a shot.

thx,
Mike

The 8" extensions on the front make sense with what I was finding trying to tune my Aurora in.

I had moved the back lines up the leaders on my home built bar about that much when it was flying best for me.

Sounds like you figured out you need an extension on the 5th line. I read someplace that reduced slack on it helps prevent overfly ? possibly correct since it only attaches at B, C, and Z on the bridle ?

Thanks Blade.

Yeah, I read on the Pansh forum someone found the proper length for their 5th line extension was 3.75m so apparently this may vary depending on kite? I'll just have to get out there and experiment.
