From what I have seen and read in the above link, this new Montana snowkite is said to have a lower aspect ratio while improving low end performance.
The "clean design" decision, similar to what Ozone did with the Quantum buggy race kite, is meant to simplify the manufacturing process and therefore
improve aerodynamics.
And yes, they are keeping the popular 14M size, along with 8, 10, and 12 meter sizes.

God that thing is beautiful...B-Roc - 17-10-2013 at 04:47 PM
I have been waiting a long time for a performance depower foil that comes in an 8 / 12 configuration. Depending upon what Gin does this winter with
the new Eskimo, I might be looking into Montanas.erratic winds - 17-10-2013 at 05:05 PM

I love orange kites:P No 6 meter?B-Roc - 18-10-2013 at 09:15 AM
Agreed but the Ikons don't use the same bridle, mixer or even kite name throughout their series, so I'm not really sure if the 8 is a smaller 12 or a
totally different yet similar kite. Plus they aren't widely distributed and though I love my Gins one gets hammered when trying to sell kites that
aren't overly common. I've learned that time and time again. I like the idea of the Ikon but I'm not looking to fly another, uncommon kite and pay
the price for that in both the purchase and the resale price.B-Roc - 25-10-2013 at 07:08 PM
a little more info and video. Looks like it is going to be quite a nice kite
The design is so simple yet so beautiful!
Ozone could definitely learn from this, imo.
The 14m looks quite "special" , though. Bladerunner - 10-11-2013 at 10:59 AM
what is that guy up to at 2:17 and 2:29 ? Cutting lines to adjust flying characteristics ? soliver - 11-11-2013 at 01:35 PM
Isn't the Montana 7 relatively new though?B-Roc - 11-11-2013 at 02:45 PM
The 7 has been out for at least a year. I'm glad to see that HQ is constantly improving the Montana and the Apex (though I was disappointed to see
the apex 4 is a 5.5m as opposed to a 5. I liked the idea that the Apex split the Access 4/6 combo difference.chris - 11-11-2013 at 05:36 PM
