Any experience with the Blurr?soliver - 3-6-2013 at 09:02 PM
Flew Pokite's 5m Blurr,... It was nice. I hear tell that they are similar to the RII, but can't tell you from experience.
I was kinda thinking the same for the possibility of using the 7m as a low wind machine,... Curious what the others have to say.MeatÐriver - 3-6-2013 at 09:45 PM
Still waiting on my 7m Blurr to arrive, but all my research on it tells me that they take a some working starting around 8-9 and strengthen up
considerably past that. From what I hear about them, referring to there low wind abilities, is you may want a lil bit more kite. I guess it really
depends on what you refer to as low wind. Not sure if I'm stepping out of bounds by mentioning an outside forum(let me know if I am), but Kitecrowd
seems to have a good amount of info on this, being Uk based and all. Just enter "blurr" into their seach, worked for me anyways. Fyi flexi has been a
little slow getting the Blurrs stateside, at least as of late from my experience.Bladerunner - 4-6-2013 at 06:39 AM
I don't know for the Blurr but my 7m Bullet left me on the side lines in sub 5mph winds.
Low wind is so subjective. I think if it's your objective and Flexi is your brand that you should look at a larger Blade ?

I have a 5M Blurr and interestingly my 4.7 Rage is much easier to launch in the same lower end of the scale winds than the Blurr. Now I will say the
Blurr is a powerhouse once the winds get going but it def needs more winds to get going than other kites I have flown in the 5M range. The other
thing about the Blurr is that they aren't the best in gusty conditions so a 7M could get a little scary on a gusty day.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Blurr and the AoA will let you tune the kite to do better in lower winds. I generally keep my AoA in the normal setting
so moving it to the low wind setting might put it on par with other kites of its size in lower winds. My low wind kite in a 8.3 RI so to answer your
question as honestly as I can to the best of my experience no, I do not the a 7M Blurr will be your best option as a low wind kite.rtz - 4-6-2013 at 09:46 AM
What have been your experiences with the 8.3 Reactor? What wind range do you buggy with it and at the lower range does it not seem like enough? What
wind speed does it become too much?revpaul - 4-6-2013 at 10:34 AM
i have a 5 and 7 Blurr.
i compared the 7 Blurr to a 6.9(?) PL Core.
i've posted before about the two but in a nut shell....i'd go with the PL Core....surprisingly better pointing.
-low wind...i was riding back with PL Core and the other guy with the Blurr was walking back...he was larger than me though so "grain of salt". AnnieO - 4-6-2013 at 10:54 AM

I had a 7m Blurr as my high wind kite for awhile. I added an 8.6 Reactor II in with it. I had good experiences with it pointing upwind when it was
well powered. It seemed I could just keep pointing upwind and not slow down.lunchbox - 4-6-2013 at 12:53 PM
I have a 7m Blurr. I would not consider it a light wind kite but what light winds means to one person can mean something completely different for
someone else.
Hard surfaces and buggys will also get you moving earlier.
Having said that it is a good kite...very user friendly and pretty powerful. I think it's almost as powerful as my Yakuza 6m but not quite...but note,
I didn't try the Blurr in all of it's settings at the time.
I also had the Reactor 8.3m which I really liked. More of a light wind kite and more powerful as a light wind weapon. The Reactor II 8.6m even more
so.

Are there any alternatives to Vapor/Reactor? I'm looking for a model a step up from my 5m Flow for when the wind is too light for it. MeatÐriver - 4-6-2013 at 05:23 PM
You will most likely be looking at 2 or more kites to fill your lower wind needs. At least in the realm of FB's anyways. Going depower, covering a
larger wind range could be another option. Though one will often set you back the same price as 2 FBs. Being VERY inland it may be a good alternative,
don't know how the winds are out in corn country.revpaul - 4-6-2013 at 05:51 PM

yep...Meat is right...now you are treading into depower country...
if you have a chance try out some depowers.
i have older Flysurfers and tried a new Unity...wow... depower range is awesome. they cost twice as much a FB but you get a lot of wind range.
i have/had plenty of FB with AoA adjusters...the novelty (for me it's a novelty but others may use AoA adjusters quite a bit more often) wore off
quick enough that i never adjust the bridle(s).rtz - 4-6-2013 at 08:44 PM
Any non lifty depowers for lightwind use?rtz - 5-6-2013 at 12:52 PM
How much of a light wind gain with the 5.4m Vapor over the 5m Flow? Almost $900 new.. would need a used or demo one..BeamerBob - 5-6-2013 at 01:56 PM
Vapor would feel like a 7-7.5m Flow (if there is one). Large depower would cover the range of a couple regular fb kites and maybe 3 or more Vapors.
Lift is really controllable. I buggy with Montanas which use lift as a selling point. I've never felt light on the wheels with one and you won't
either unless you send the kite behind you at speed or grossly exceed the kite's wind range.
