libre radical 2 line set up

bogdan - 13-5-2013 at 04:56 PM

Hi,
I have bought a Libre Radical 2 18m second hand kite, and got it without the users manual.
I have e-mailed the support at Libre and asked for help on how to use the kite, but they don't seem to be very concerned with the fact that I can't use the kite, they take weeks to answer to my e-mails.
Does anyone have a plan of the lines set-up for this kite? It's a 7 lines kite and I'm not sure I got it with the lines connected correctly.
Many thanks for your help.:(

This was posted on another kite forum and then quoted here last year.

Quote:

this kite is named "Radical 2", it is a kite with 7 lines ! the 7th line is the safety, and there are two front lines per side. one line is the normal front line, taking most of the load, the second line is there to be able to change the profile according to the wind situation. the kite has 65 cells. the size 15 sqm and 18 sqm are alread production ready; the 10 sqm is still in development. the depower range is huge as well as the flying characteristics is perfect. the radical2 is air-tight, so it is possible to use it for kitesurfing. this information is from "Rens van Lier" who was there at the snowkiterace. You might want to email/ phone to Jeff (bigkid) once he decompress from his US buggy tour, as he is the US Libre (in addition to PKD) rep. Even if it's not on their website, he might be able to hunt down a copy of the manual.

Would probably wait until you confirm the control/line layout... a 18M high aspect ratio kite could lead to all kinds of bad juju if it's not set up right.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your help. I have contacted Jeff already and he will see what he can do.
I think I will follow your advice and stick for the moment with my North Rhino 16m 2008 for those light wind days... even though the Radical 2 seems superior...
