Perhaps the best time I've had at an east coast buggy event. Epic winds, lovely beach, afternoon low tide, old friends, new friends, kite fort, Aunt
B's cookies....What more could you ask for. Oh, yeah. The video:
Somehow, dean is the center piece. In the end, notice how he explains how a suicide jibe is performed, but can't quite pull it off himself.
A huge thank you to Angus make it all possible.mougl - 12-5-2013 at 07:33 PM

Beautiful video, man. I'm new to all of this but I know I've just got to make that event next year. Not only does this show some great kiting, but
really shows what a great bunch of people are involved. Happy times indeed!rocfighter - 13-5-2013 at 02:16 PM
Cheesy you need to go to this event. You have not beach buggied till you do it on Jekyll Island.:o
Chris this is a great video. We had a very good time with all these kiting fools. Sandy is already making plans for next year.3shot - 13-5-2013 at 04:57 PM

WOW!.....Scott has been trying to get me to go, but now the proof is in the pictures....This video did not help in the saying "It's too far"....I
feel a JIBE event in my near future.....
@Flyguy0101 Your better half was nasty before the fall.....
@Cheezy.....Both living in NY....If my family doesn't want to come.... you and I should talk about a road trip together....It's not like we wouldn't
get along for the long car ride....I know we can get all the stuff in my fit.
Always fun watching these...seeing familiar faces....and the BIG smiles on everyones face.....THANKS FOR SHARING!kiteballoon - 14-5-2013 at 10:44 AM
Awesome video! I know others of you have snippets out there.. I love seeing stuff like this. I even made it in talking about the suicide jibes :-)
Glad you got a failure on film, hehe.soliver - 15-5-2013 at 06:10 PM
That was an awesome vid Chris, I'll have mine posted up ASAP. But most of my footage was not useable.
Great meeting you!
And yes Cheezy, you need to come to Jekyll.cheezycheese - 15-5-2013 at 06:46 PM
Sounds like a plan Bruce !!MeatÐriver - 15-5-2013 at 06:52 PM
Looks like some great times had all around. Love the bit where @2:40 whoever's rocking that Phantom appears, from my angle, to make the Blokart pilot
pucker up a bit i'm sure. Those had to be the famous "Aunt B's" cookies @3:10? Must be the best if the get a pkf thread and a cameo! ha... Watching
this has me jonesing for SOBB even harder now. Totally jealous. Just hoping that we can luck out with some decent wind/weather similar to what you
guys had over there.Sier_Pinski - 15-5-2013 at 08:19 PM
@chris- excellent footage thanks for sharing

Scott,
What the heck is causing that? Because I have smaller similar marks after landboarding at the beach with a seat harness, despite no crashes. Is it
just caused by pressure against the body by the harness?
EDIT: Just realized that you made a post about a bruise caused by a 30MPH crash here, so that's what may have happened.flyguy0101 - 16-5-2013 at 04:46 AM
@sier - Thankfully i did not bruise my rump on a speed run, I think had i crashed going 30 on the beach the issue would not have been a bruise but
more likely a need for a skin graft:D. What caused the bruise was obviously impacting the ground without my feet under me, but more importantly it
was caused by the buldge that formed when the flaps on my cargo shorts pockets bunched up and created a pressure point under my seat harness and then
i fell on it several times (the one that did the real damage was a bailed jump maybe 8 ft high). Although i really like just saying i feel on a conch
shell (in essense the same thing a hard protrusion)- the next day i cut the pocket flaps off and of course continued to fall but it didnt hurt or add
to any of the bruising.
@chris- thanks again, Andrew is diggin that shot of him in the sliding transition
Scottchris - 16-5-2013 at 10:08 AM
@Scott - It may have been a year since I've seen Andrew ride. But, boy, has he progressed! He rides real smooth now and with great confidence. I loved
the sound of the transition in the video, so I left it on that track.acampbell - 16-5-2013 at 12:00 PM
Chris thanks again for this. I'll even forgive the lack of helmets on many riders.
I have showed this to a lot of locals and everyone comments on the composition, editing and production quality.
BTW everybody, several Jekyll Island residents have commented on how gracious and friendly JIBE attendees were and they really appreciated the show.
Thanks to all for the good will.Todd - 16-5-2013 at 07:04 PM
Great video Chris thanks for sharing... I wish I could have made it this year.PHREERIDER - 17-5-2013 at 07:45 AM
