East winds 10 to 15 w/ gusts to 20. Galveston
An East Beach kinda day. Whos in?:puzzled:
bourgeois.jason - 23-2-2013 at 01:45 PM
I'm still in Angola. Bummer. I only live 45 minutes from there.
East beach used to be so much nicer before they put in all of those posts. I guess they are parking space markers, but they may also be buggy
deterrents.

Looks like we have good wind this Saturday (2Mar) in Galveston (although north wind instead of south). I'm thinking about trying my new wheels out at
the east beach, or anywhere else. Anyone else insterested?
van - 28-2-2013 at 03:50 PM
First you have to get those wheels mounted!! I would go if it's direct onshore winds. It's gonna be a direct offshore and gusty probably. I'll
have to think about it since I'm super busy lately. Just make sure you don't end up in a kite release, otherwise it might end up in the ocean
floating away.
Nfish - 28-2-2013 at 06:25 PM
They are already mounted :wee: looks pretty nice. I do need some 20mm washers or spacers though. I think last time we had direct offshore wind as well
in Dec; it actually wasn't that bad at East beach. Forecast 20mph gust to 23, I think my Phantom should be fine.

I could do Sunday,
Sunday: East winds 5 to 10 knots becoming south 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 1 to 2 feet.
I could bring the para sail for in the morning,,then buggy when the wind shifts in the afternoon.........

Nfish - 1-3-2013 at 01:09 PM
Wind is a little low on Sunday...I don't have any kites that'll work in low wind.
Nfish - 2-3-2013 at 09:25 PM
Van, you jinxed it...the Venom is gone. A strong gust set it free from the sand bag while I was sorting out the lines. I didn't even have a chance to
chase after it and it was already in the water sailing away....Wilson....
Also, I think I forgot my harness after packing - couldn't find it when I got home, so that's gone as well.
Then, I dropped my phone when I was doing some work on the buggy and the screen shattered...what a day, lol.
Well, sounds like I have enough excuses to get some new gears. =]
van - 3-3-2013 at 08:27 AM
wasnt jinxed..I was just passing the warning to you from the wind gods
treblehook - 3-3-2013 at 08:48 AM
Big Bummer about the Kite, Harness, & phone..
Sounds like the script to a Hollywood Horror movie.:ticking:

Nfish - 8-3-2013 at 10:29 AM

bourgeois.jason - 8-3-2013 at 01:13 PM
I'm busy moving to the other side of Houston. Can't make it.
Have fun. It is
windy today. I may take the kids to the park and fly their kites.
treblehook - 8-3-2013 at 02:02 PM
SLP in the morning.Jeremiah is in and I will try to call Steve Mc.
If it gets to busy with spring breakers, we can move over to Surfside
Nfish - 8-3-2013 at 02:48 PM
Not sure where do you meet at SLP? Thought we nomally meet at Jamaica Beach and ride to SLP...
