Sylvan Lake after Christmas anyone?

It is that time of year again. Are any of you up for a session at Sylvan Lake ? BR won't be in town at Christmas this year so there should be wind:wink2:

Any new spots you want to try?

I'm in.....my lake is solid and has car traffic...looking at sailing it on Thursday

I will be doing my bit to create a wind free Okanagan this Christmas so Sylvan should blow !

I hope you all get together and turn this into a 3rd annual Alberta meet. I'll be thinking of you as I stand there wondering where the wind is ! ;-)

If you can believe AccuWeather it is supposed to warm up a bit after Christmas and snow Friday Dec 28. My vote so far is Thursday Dec 27 forecast is cloudy, high -7C, winds ENE 11kph gusting to 31. Should be good direction.

The weekend winds are much lighter and frigid flurries this weekend.

I don't know if they are driving on the lake yet but we are kiting on Ghost down here and it has been consistently a lot colder in Red Deer and north.

I am real bummed about missing out. I'll get out for some sessions but will be flying with strangers. I'll miss you guys!

I so had this on the calendar. But once again low man on the totem I get to work Monday and the days after Christmas :( Hope its a good time for you all, was looking forward to getting to meet some more of you. Hope it works for the Edmonton Festival again.

I'll miss you too BR & shaggs. Conditions here for Christmas are pretty frigid for someone (like me) from the wet coast (-30 windchill) but we are getting a bit of new snow.

Another look at weather. Both WindGURU and Windfinder predict light (2-4kph) wind and cold (-20) on Thursday :thumbdown: but Accuweather is now predicting S 8-14 kph . WindGURU and Windfinder predict Friday is better (9-11kph), Saturday is good (11-17kph).

I am good to change to any day. What works for everyone else?

I probably will be out for a few weeks getting a good amount of hours finally. So don't worry bout me too much. If its windy on a weekend round Edmonton, I'll give a shout out to see if anyone wants to meet up.

Looks like Friday could be a 15m Aurora day and Saturday is a bring your quiver day.

Shut down the wind in the Okanagan !

I did manage a light / no wind day in a farmers field. Aurora needs tuning. Eskimo has found it's place in the rotation !

If anyone else was planning to go Kelly & I talked and we agreed it would be great to get together but there will be a better day when more people can get out so Sylvan is postponed for now.

I'll be out at Ghost Friday if the promised wind shows up...
