I'll be there 5/15 to 5/22, don't want to miss any of the good low tide.
I've tried for a couple years to get to JIBE but something always screwed it up.
This year is looking real good.
Stoked to buggy the beach and also experience Jekyll Island.
Bringing my bike and kayak just incase we have a no wind day.

@drew-bring the slackline- do you have sand anchors? Also i will bring mine but dont have a way to set it up on the beach- always good for a laugh or two.

DUH:puzzled: obviously not thinking I will send a u2u to snowspider see if he can send me a pic of his anchors- i think it would be kinda nice to set up the slack line near the staging area- would definetly create more laughs and i could leave them in the ground for the whole week

You will not regret the other toys. The island is very bikeable. Lots of trails and beach to ride on. Traffic is very light on the roads too. The winds are usually too low to use before noon, so there's lots of time to use the bike.

Philip, the HQ crew will be at the campground again. Arriving at the beach mid-day on the 16th.

breakdown time... had to give myself one more weekend to try and fly... but between sucky/no wind and a slew of house projects.... no kites got up :no:

so i gotta pack up tonight and get all the goodies out by tomorrow. I'm going to pack the bug up in sonotube this time, and make some wood "plugs" for the ends, maybe add a handle for the fedex guys so its all a little easier to move around... my pack-up in GA should be simple and painless.....

Almost go-time!!

This is going to be one long-a$$ week!

I don't want to jinx it but I think my schedule is going to jibe with JIBE! Knocking on a big piece of wood right now...

Looks like I'm going to roll in on Wednesday and may stay through Sunday if the weather looks good.

Hope this works out. It will be great to see you guys again and meet some other pkf'ers.

You'll get hooked. You can always spot a Rev pilot flying a foil. Even if launching say a Reactor 10.8, they feel compelled to do a kite loop right away 10' off the ground. And their arms don't move.

I have a Rev Power Blast 4.8 that is meant for the buggy. You have to dial in the sweet spot Juuuuust right to get the pull, but then it pulls well and goes up wind like a banshee. And de-power is instant.

Packed the lei hoping for some water time, but know the Jekyll winds don't disappoint for the land board so we are ready and Andrew has said he wants to try and go big after doing probably a hundred jumps at wwb and getting his technique down. Can't wait see you guys in a few days

look forward to getting on the Fury Lite with a lightwind board as well as testing her top end...............the Zephyr is good down to 9/10 mph and is very managable at 20. Assuming the PL tubes will have bars with them. I have a Navi bar that I can bring if need be....................a stiff breeze for the 11s and 9s would be nice too.......... :thumbup:

Just got confirmation that the Corsair will be delivered Tuesday afternoon. Anyone who would like to see her up close before I begin punishing her is more than welcome to stop over for an assembly party followed by her maiden voyage down the beach. Many sites have power. I'm not sure about the tent sites. Call the campground and ask what's on the site they have you in.

As to Wifi, it used to be in the campground itself, but last year you had to go up to the building with the laundry. There's a nice room with tables, chairs, and wifi.

@tridude Much lighter than expected. Both days at St. Simons. 12 wasn't enough but the 15 did the trick. Currents were kinda wonky. The outlet was pretty good. I think the tides will be better lined up next week for the afternoon seabreezes. We're gonna be back next Thursday night. Hope to see you!

Dudes, wind now on JI is SSE 13 - 20 mph and minutes away from low tide. Go out and make me proud while I work today! Forecasts look good for the rest of the week.

My car broke down last night (battery not being charged) and I will take to the Toyota dealer first thing Monday AM. By hook or by crook I will be out there Monday afternoon.

Did about an hour in the buggy. Winds around 20 mph and a bit more south than optimum. Got some sweet downwinders with the ViperS 3.9 unhooked but the upwind hauls made me wish I had hooked in :lol:

all in all a good short session. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Andrew and I got out a couple of hrs this morning with Ted. On shore 20 and excellent will be at kite beach in am for nother session around 9am. @drew. Got a bug for you of need it also did bring the slack line Had several really floaty jumps today and Andrew was launch 4-6 ft and showing his style. Come on morning

Just got back from the beach. First time in the ATB with a real kite. PII 15m, actually was boosting 3-5 feet. Easy floaty landings. Had one boost, don't know how high but board came off and trucks smacked my elbow. Pretty purple! All is well though. Icing it now then back for more!!

The P2 is amazing! It rips upwind, good lift, floaty, an absolute dream to fly. Made the ATB easy to learn. Can't wait to try it in the buggy!!
