Great start. Late afternoon Saturday session on the 10 at Jockey's Ridge on the way in. Awsome oceanside downwinder on the 10 from the ferry docks to
the Billy Mitchell airfield. I spotted a Venom2 in the air on the sound side around the washout on my way by too.chris - 16-4-2012 at 08:29 AM
I heard Jockey's was a zoo on Saturday. We rode at Windmill Point and the slicks (Nags Head) on Saturday and Sunday. Wanted to come South for surf on
Sunday, but conditions were great up north again.zero gee - 19-4-2012 at 08:56 PM
Only awesome ocean downwinders after Saturday. Did more from Ferry Docks to Frisco Pier. A couple from S-Turns to Ramp 23. Todays was from Oregon
Inlet to S-turns, EPIC!elnica - 24-4-2012 at 07:39 PM
were you over at Salvo yesterday? some one told me they saw a syn over here. I was down at Avon though for a lesson.zero gee - 25-4-2012 at 06:27 AM
I thought it might be you. It was someone else. My guys thought it was me too when they passed by on a downwinder from the planet to the new inlet
boat ramp. But I was getting skooled on ocean downwinders from the ferry docks to the bath house. Side off :eekdrull:Kober - 25-4-2012 at 04:35 PM
Elnica .......
When you come to get lesson there was Christo (instructor) and other guy who say hi to you ( that was me ). That is so funny ......
I see one PL in air and ask it his from PKF ... That was some dude from Canadaelnica - 25-4-2012 at 08:49 PM
Kober - small world. Were you the guy that was talking to christo about helping someone on a downwinder?
Zero- yeah there are some canadians from winnipeg staying in front I heard. It was almost directly onshore here.
Today was great, I actually rode around standing on the board a few times. Mostly bodydragging upwind to compensate; the "bodydrag of shame" is still
better than the walk of shame I think. Will give the syn10 a shot tomorrow since its supposed to be in the 30s or so..zero gee - 26-4-2012 at 09:41 PM
Yup, that's my crew. All 34 of them (some from other parts of Canada, even a guy from Ohio). We have 4 houses in Wind Over Waves. The main house has
(had, it's almost blown off after Thurdays wind) a big Boost Kiteboarding banner on the top deck. A 5th house from Saskatchewan (17 of them??) too.
Saw a disco colored Syn flying around in front of the house after returning from more ocean downwinders from the ferry docks to the bath house. It was
nuts! Got worked this week.
Thinking ocean downwinders from Oregon Inlet to S-Turns Friday.
Here's a vid of a couple of our young guns taken on this trip so far... zero gee - 29-4-2012 at 02:13 PM
14 days... 1 no-wind day. 3 soundside days. 10 days of many oceanside downwinders. The crew was awesome again this year. Live, eat, drink, ride...
like rockstars.
Back at home now. chris - 29-4-2012 at 03:15 PM
I kited with part of your crew this past Thursday. Good group. Ran into them in the Real Slick as my crew was doing an Apes run. They kept riding past
KHK, which was our stop. I didn't see any other foil kites. I was on an 8m NEO 3.elnica - 29-4-2012 at 06:35 PM
I was staying in wind over waves by the boat launch! Will most likely stay in the same house next year. That was probably me on the syn. 90% of the
time I was body dragging upwind since I can't ride upwind yet. It was much better than walking though.
I definitely recognize those core kites from in front of the house.zero gee - 15-5-2012 at 10:04 AM
Some more stats from this years trip... 4 houses, 34 people (43 people during the course of the trip), 2031 beers (includes a 15.5 gallon keg), 41
bottles of wine, 24 big bottles of hard liquer, $1800 of meat. :o
Total cost for all the good times... priceless (really super cheap though).
