Air 42 Water 43

Another 3h kiteboarding session at my local spot at Sandy Hook NJ ...... This time I have 2 base layers under my drysuit ...... and that was just perfect .... Also I bring some hot tea in thermos that was very helpful after I remove my drysuit and get to my regular outfit ..... that is the part when you body really get chills ..... lol ......
After 3h like on previous session my fingers tell me to stop and go home ......
No leak on drysuit again .... very happy .....
Forecast show 8-11 mph wind so after arriving at the beach I set up X19 ..... launched ..... get into water and try to do first water start ...... right after that wind comes from nowhere ....... kite was fully depowered and pick me up from water ..... few seconds later I pulled safety release ..... kite fold in a half and drop from the sky .....
That was it for X19 ....... wind now was blowing close to 20mph and stay like that to the end of my session ......
Oh ..... well...... X19 will have its play day next time .....
For anyone that is interested ,,,,, my friend at same time have 19m S3 in air and stay with it to the end ...... 30lbs heavier did not have problems with 20mph wind ..... so ..... looks like top end of X19 is way lower then S3
Gin Zulu III 13m was kite for me at this point ...... so much fun .... choppy water make my runs challenging and splashes on my face thru the session ..... another challenge for me was staying away from shore since wind was straight on-shore .... I proudly can say that I did good job going upwind with Door 60......
Another awesome day kiting ....... Drysuit was a good investment for pleasure of learning kiteboarding on uncrowded windy beach .......

Video from that day is added below ...... Most of footage was useless since sun setting behind make us invisible ......
Now when I watch it I regret not getting drysuit in October and having fun all winter ... Wind was almost always there ..... and not that many cold days to stay home ..... I know that next winter I be on water if we don't get any snow ......

Congrats on the session. I have tried two more for a total of 3. The wind for me was too gusty and too onshore with boulders downwind. Nothing bad but didn't ride because I was too worried about downwind danger. I started with my 19 and the wind kept shifting from south to north then back. Then the wind picked up to over 20mph and so I went to the 11m. The kite kept luffing in lulls and eventually I stopped ignoring the little voice and put the kite down. Wind went up to 28 so I made a good choice. I am hoping for a chance today.

I noticed the x19 and wondered how you like it?

stetson .....
That was first day that I launch X19 ..... and eject right after ..... I have to wait for lower winds to try it again ......
That session was with on-shore winds and I was very careful with kite maneuvers when at speed ..... tho ...x19 pull me all the way to the beach and on it a bit .....

I have some footage that will be posted soon ,,,,
