So, let's see if I understand this correctly from Flysurfer's announcement:
I spend $3,000 on a new Speed 3 21m kite and Flysurfer says that it does not come with the Infinity 2.0 bar?
But if I spend $1,300 and purchase a Unity, I get the new Infinity 2.0 bar?
I gotta say, that Matrix 15m is looking more and more appealing.

Noticed that too :dunno:Kamikuza - 2-3-2012 at 07:02 PM
What are the bar sizes? The biggest Unity is a 12... I seem to remember the bar being short.
And... I actually prefer the 1 :Dmacboy - 2-3-2012 at 07:52 PM
You refer the Infinity 1 over vers 2? What did they change? (Haven't been paying attention, nor have I had the SA out of the bag in ages - it's got
the vers 1 bar on it.)Kamikuza - 2-3-2012 at 08:08 PM
Over-all... with the bearing mod...
The trim straps now end at the same point which could confuse a stupid person (me) while blindly fiddling for the right one to pull.
The bar is thicker (certainly towards the middle) which I like but otherwise the same.
The QR is a slightly different design but has many more parts - I reckon it's a bit over-engineered... I reckon simple is better but I'm probably
wrong.
And aside from new colours, the rest is the same... I can't remember if they still have that aluminum block that annoys some people.
Oh and the stopper - limited utility to me but an easy fix to the 1 I'm sure...bigkahuna - 3-3-2012 at 01:07 AM
I wonder what effect the new safety release that is built to the "French standard" will have for us heavy weight kiters (or for that matter,
lightweight kiters also)? Flysurfer states in that video that the bar is designed for people under 120 kg and will automatically release at 140 kg.
I'm well under that 120 kg cut off but I wonder just how much sooner that release might activate for someone like me at 107 kg than someone else who
weighs 50 kg?Kamikuza - 3-3-2012 at 02:05 AM
Eh? I would have loaded that QR to more than 140kg trying to jump with the kite! You sure it wasn't 240?
... IIRC we don't actually pull a lot of G on the gear - 240kg from a 120kg rider is 2G, is it not?Kamikuza - 3-3-2012 at 03:44 AM
Oh I just noticed an email - apparently the speeds will ship with the Inf.2.0 this summer... FWIWjoedy - 3-3-2012 at 04:24 AM
