Whats the absolute best way to set up a Charger to fly in the lowest wind? In regards to the VPC, strap, attachment points, trimming, etc?
And since getting rid of the y split in the navigator bar would open up the kite more, would that help get the most out of low wind? In theory that
makes sense but does anyone have experience with it?

the Y split does keep the tips together but it helps keep power in the turns which works better for the low end. try flying straps all loos and the
vpc on the middle knot. that will allow the kite to fly faster and will help you generate power when there is not a lot of wind. but as the best set
up? its hard to say and it really depends on the amount of wind and which size of charger that youre riding.
what is your weight and target low wind that you are talking about, that may help some

he only has a 15m lol... i bet thats what hes flying
what i was told was open wide for landboarding... loose straps
vpc always seemed preferential to how much input/feedback you wanted
not the expert tho... listen to adam!

That makes sense.
On the vpc.. (i ran a few searches but i never really found anything, im sure if i looked deeply i would). But how does it work? In my mind the
furthest knot would give the most leverage for a quicker turn?
Im 140 pounds. and i dont even know what my target wind would be.. mainly the problem is the wind that we get around here. It'll die all the time
during a good session. So i want to set it up so that i can keep it up in the air during the longer lulls.
I've found on open cell bridled kites, if i depower all the way i can generally keep it up because its simply floating around on the front lines.
But with the Charger it doesnt seem to work the same. It likes rear line input, am i right?
Do you usually attach your rear lines on the closer pigtail knots, or further?
Thanks!

i fly my chargers with straps all loose and the fly on the vpc on the knot furthest from the kites. Yes that gives you the most leverage which gives
fast turning and pop. it really light winds it may stall out abit on this setting. In that low i don't even try to fly. I attach lines to the knots
to the furthest knot from the kite as well to try and get the most power as i can get

I'm not a fan of the split line and I'm not convinced it does much in terms of generating or maintaining power in the turns. I find that an non split
line allows for a more open profile and better low end.
Tho there's a lot of overlap between the 19m CH and the 15m Drew has a point, kite size is gonna be the deciding factor here. I run full loose on the
internals tho occasionally I've been tightening the back strap but usually I run all loose.
Bottom knot (farthest away from kite) on the front end. Highest bar pressure/turn rate setting on the VPC so I can get more turn rate and sine the
kite to milk the low end.

so this is a little random... but is still a charger-esq question... how do you remove the y split? Do you just run new lines? if you just took the
current line out of the metal loop, that bungie line would mess up the kites flying behavior.. and why would you do it in the first place?

I'll soon replace the Y line setup for my PIIs with equal length lines and use Feyd's work to reroute my safety. I like having all 4 independent
lines at my fingertips for relaunch if she is on the ground. It's really odd with that dexterity that I can't coax an arc back in the air. Maybe
with practice I could do the same just by tugging the centers but that won't help me if I'm remotely undoing a bowtie. I just don't want to change
and Feyd's experience saying the same thing helps me validate my opinion.

in relation to the charger tho, i never had an issue with the y getting in my way... i never had a problem getting the kite back up... pull one outer
line back till the kite was flat, tug center, and off...... my be different on the p2's but for the charger, bowtie-ing never seemed to be an issue
but to get rid of the y, you need a new center line correct?
Would the charger fly better/worse without the y?
