waterproofing kites

So I was flying yesterday and it started raining and eventually the flexifoil bullet I was flying got to wet and heavy to fly right. Can you waterproof kites? Maybe one of those wash in waterproofers? Does it affect the kite at all weight wise or any other way? It would be nice to be able to fly in a light rain or mist or be able to land on wet ground

You might want to read this comparison:Old kite sealing smackdown Nikwax - Tectron DWR - Tent sure

The other well known solution is Holmenkol Seal N Glide 25201, but the smallest size they seem to sell now is 1000 ml which is over $200. Good if you have a bunch of kites, but probably not viable for a smaller job.

Another option is Sailkote which goes for about $40-$50 a quart.
