OK, so I plunged ahead with installation, having never heard back from Flexifoil in Europe about their abysmal instruction sheet included
with the Bridle kit. (It was a p*ss-poor xerox of the original color sheet. The photos reduced to ink-blots and the colored XYZ line
diagrams all the same shade of gray - really disappointing.)
Questions:
Does the (Rage) kite's original "Bridle Toggle" get discarded?
(It would have made larks-heading all the A bridles together easier).
The "wing tip" lines that are supposed to be gathered onto the X attachment point look for all the world like a mix of ABC colored bridles in the
fuzzy diagram. But all the bridle assembly rows on the very wing tip still all go to Point X?
EDIT - FOUND the brake extenders - they slipped out of the bag into my storage kite case.
I was hoping to have my 2.5m Rage modded for possible hi-winds at WW (maybe this weekend?)
Now a little afraid to try the thing now.WELDNGOD - 22-2-2012 at 07:16 PM
YES, discard the toggles. Do you need me to pull mine out and take some pics lad?lad - 22-2-2012 at 07:21 PM
I think I got it...but the wingtip bridle groupings still seem contradictory...WELDNGOD - 22-2-2012 at 07:29 PM
lad it goes on in a A ROW , B ROW, C ROW. There is no wing tip bundle The A ROW goes to the on that larksheads to the lines, the B ROW goes to the
one w/ the ring and the CROW goes to the one that the lines larkshead to the AAAlad - 22-2-2012 at 07:49 PM
Dang... the crappy instructions seem to imply otherwise! :puzzled:
That's what had me thrown off..it says"larks head knot all of the A bridle lines and wingtip lines to the loop on
the bridle adjuster (point x)
The illustration seems to the XYZ rows in different shades(?)
BUT
the three bridles going down in a column on the wing tip, are clearly attached up to Point X.
I compared the set-up to my Blurr AAA, but everything is generally too different to begin with.

On my Rage wingtip there are 4 lines, the top is A ,the next one down is B, then C, and the bottom is a brake line connection.Redo it w/ the three
rows method. Top row (wingtip included) goes to the one w/ the loop. The B row goes to the one attached to the ring(has a knot on the end). And then
the C row(just above the brakes) goes to the one w/ a knot on the end. My letters faded away ,so I don't got XYZ.WELDNGOD - 22-2-2012 at 08:00 PM
someone goofed up the drawing. That is not how it goes on. Do it the way I said and you will be sorted.

JEEZSHUSH...not only is the repro quality of the instructions pure shyte,
but now you're telling me they even got the line set up WRONG?!?!?!?! :wow:
I mean really...it didn't look quite right to me, and imagine how much it would screw performance up!!!!!
Were your Kite instructions different than this?
Do you still have the sheet?
Really, Flexifoil needs to answer to this kind of stuff - for all their added cost and reputation.
(yeah, I know, none of the (former) flexi independent dealers in the USA give a crap anymore!) :smug:WELDNGOD - 22-2-2012 at 09:01 PM
yeah ,I had some decent instructions, but I don't know where they are. But I have swapped my AAA so much ,I have it memorized. And it might have
some benefit of doing it the other way.... Now I'm curious how it will fly like that. Never know ,it could be an improvement.lad - 22-2-2012 at 09:04 PM
The inner middle row is all that gets adjusted on the mod. ?
The wingtips would therefore stay put...maybe a slight down-curl in some settings?DAKITEZ - 22-2-2012 at 11:01 PM

You got that right! But that does not mean we will help out a fellow kiter if we can. I have a color copy of the instructions. But they look the same
as the image you attached so I am not sure if they would help. I can scan them in and load them up here if you think they will helplad - 23-2-2012 at 01:36 PM
A scan would be a nice service! ;-)
I tried flying my 2.5 Rage in very dodgy winds today with the wingtips tied on the X point, as in the illustration.
Seemed OK - maybe a little jerky at times, and maybe a little tip folding - but that could have been the wind.DAKITEZ - 24-2-2012 at 11:23 AM
lad u2u me your email and I will send you the pdf
Edit: I found your email in your profile ... email sentlad - 24-2-2012 at 11:46 AM
Thanx DK! Yep...instructions say to def. attach all the wingtip bridle lines to the single X Point of the adjuster kit.
You apparently have more info resources than the Euro Flexi people!DAKITEZ - 24-2-2012 at 11:51 AM
Flexi wrote off the USA from what I have seen. Craig Sparks talked my ear off last year at nabx how flexi was going to grow in the US and give great
support to its dealers. I think it was about a month later the USA dist was gone and our profit margins were slashed to nothing. I see that as the
opposite of support and growing business ... but I am just a dumb American so what do I know??
