The ice has been good for a few weeks but daddy duties and work and life have not coordinated to allow for play time. Today was the day. Nice
Chinook winds. It got to +7 C in the afternoon, so it got a bit slushy. Winds were 15km gusting to 35km. Park on the dam of the reservoir - easy
access and flying the 6m Access to boot. Great first day on the ice.
My dog scout was very happy to be out at the lake again. When I put my ice screw in I throw an old ski pole into it with my wind meter attached - so
I can come back and see how freaky the gusts are and attempt to rig appropriately for the gusts.
Looking forward to a great winter. Temps should fall a bit in the next days giving a much faster surface.
