Unless he has his heart set on the 2.0M, Kent still has a used 3.0M Flow up for grabs.

i dont know much about the fury. do they fly similar to the flows. im hoping for around 200$ ish. kinda why im looking at a 2m. he also has very little experiance with kiting. i wount be around to help him. he lives in corpus christi and im an oklahoman. im hoping he can hook up with some of the locals down there. not sure if people are going to be willing to put up with him. he is deaf. so he may be learning on his own for the most part.

I have been thinking about selling my 2m flow and getting a 2.3 method for about a week now. Im going to see if i can borrow one of Kent's this weekend and if I like it il be selling my 2m next week if he does not find one buy then.

The fury was the kite before the flow and I sold my flow for the fury . My son is 12 and the fury is his go to. But that's just us

I can't imagine for an instant that him being deaf will effect any one on here from being willing to help him. The only thing I can see is it may be more of a challange for the instructor. And I see a lot of good folks on here that just love a good challange :wee:. I know the east coast guys put up with me. It can't be much worse with him!!:wow:

You deaf? The problem is the instructor. We took this same guy snowboarding and put him in lessons but alas a terrible idea. He couldn't here the instructor and the instructor was always looking away. He had a terrible time. He almost gave up. Now kiting is different I know.

No I'm not deaf, I am a TBI surviver and it takes me way longer to learn everything. I consistantly make the same mistakes and usualy try to stay off by myself when I ride. But the guys here have been great. Never get upset or at least don't show it!
As for snowboarding, I tried that too!! Not good. My sons are great at it and I tried to join them. Didn't work out. But I think because of the sport kiting will be way easier to learn. Because he will learn to fly static ans the instructor and stand right with him and give signal support. When he starts buggying it may be a bit more challanging. But I see no reason why whith good attention he can't succeed. But start static and move forward. Good luck to him. And get him on here for more advice.
Dave.

Lol by no means am I worried about him being deaf. He is on a scholarship to what ever university is down there for...... wait for it CHEER. Yes that is right he is a deaf guy that can participate in a sport where music and rhythm go hand in hand with the moves. Grant it when he first started he was off a few beats 3 months later you couldn't even tell he was deaf. When he was snowboarding he couldn't see the persons mouth to understand what they were saying even though I told them about the situation. I don't recommend lessons from instructors at a resort anymore. I can teach better than them. He did go out the next day after we bought a helmet for him(he had hit his head the day before and that made the rest of the day miserable with the lessons.) I just don't want the same thing to happen to him again. If he gets hurt he wont want to try it again unless pushed to do it again. I want him to enjoy the sport and see the thrill. He is actually coming up here this week and he has a kite on the way. New 3m Hornet from Big Mikes Kites. Now all we need is to set him up with someone from Corpus Christi. Van is in Galvaston and could come down but is there anyone in the immediate area. Oh and I'm going to push AKA force him to join the forum when he comes to pick up the kite so there you go.

rocfighter - 21-12-2011 at 05:38 AM

Most awesome. Push him like a bike up hill!!!

Well he had a kite delivered to my house and guess what the kite will magically hide somewhere until he signs up on here. Yes I am holding the 3m Hornet ransom. OOO and If he doesn't get signed up on here I get to demo a 3m hornet. Guess I should change the name of the thread lol.....Ok changed.....
