How's the wind? How's the turn out so far?

I've got work and the holiday affecting when I'll be there. Anyone live on the scene with any status report?

Just came back !! Freaking awesome!! haha ... It was blowing over 25mph during the late afternoon. I couldn't keep my buggy in a straight line with that kind of wind and a 15m phanton ... but it was great. Dead onshore winds. Should be good for the next couple days also. I'll post a quick video in a bit.

This is current prediction:

Sunday : 15-22 dead onshore wind
monday : 15 - 22 onshore
tuesday: 15 - 20 kinda all over the place
wednesday: 12-16 side shore .. offshore
thursday : 12-14 side shore .. we are eating turkey this day so it doesn't matter
friday: crazy winds 19 -30 dead onshore .. get your 2 meter kite ready

Man, looks like Texas is getting all the wind. Can you guys send us some wind down here! Think I might have to look for work out there so I can kiteboard more...do you guys have a season where it's not windy..haha?

Looks like a great time...25mph in a Phantom 15 buggying...wow!!! How fast did you go and how many miles can you go before you have to turn around?

Sweet...come on down. Kite was straight up the whole time. I couldn't bring the kite down because I would run out of beach too quick...haha you can go about a mile or two I guess before turning around. A smaller kite would have worked better in those winds.

I will be back out there Monday morning

winds look to have been good... hope you guys are having fun down there... winds look to be perfect friday, and verging on outta control over the weekend... anyone staying for the front thats coming through?

also, i know its not last minute just yet, but ill be coming down on thur morning, so any last minute needs, and im your guy... still havent figured out what to bring in the way of food...

It was a 8-10m kite day yesterday. Winds were good for those of us that had a big enough kite. Good beach runs with lots off hard pack.

Storms are rolling in now. We're waiting it out.

Front has passed today. Looks like nice sunny weather with good winds for Turkey day and beyond.
If anyone flew into IAH this morning when the front was passing through and saw someone cooking Turkeys just outside the fence along the runways.... then I have no knowledge of that :singing:


The day of Van's video I started with a 19M Charger and was flying a 8M Charger by the end of the day.

I wish I had an 8m charger by end of day .. haha .. but the 15m phantom was a blast in that wind. I will come tomorrow (wednesday) if time permits. Seems like the wind died out for the next 2 days. Friday will be the day to ride. I will have to make sure I bring my 10m scorpion.

See everyone on turkey day!! I will be grilling some pork on a stick for everyone. Just called my wife in vietnam for the recipe. Got it all marinated and ready to go.

If anyone needs a basic cheap room you might check out the seaside Motel just of the 3100 block of the seawall. It was less than $40 a night last time my buddy stayed there. He was working down the street at Guidos resturant so it was a cheap place to stay close to work after he lost his other place.

You can see the MOTEL sign from the seawall over top the bar on the corner with the Rainbow flags....Free coffee in the morning for that price is not a bad deal.


If the Go pro exposes more than just a buggy ride does it count toward his buggy naked pin?

Just got home. Wind was a little weak today. Had a great time cooking and eating again with my kite family. I will be back down in the morning with Henry for some speed runs. :lol:

Have been looking for ways out of work to get back since I was there last Sunday! Thanks Brad for all the help and the time on your buggy! I hope to get off early Friday so hope to make it there on into Sat.
