Putting this out there....

macboy - 10-9-2011 at 08:22 PM

I'm in post-SOBB sobbing mode, itching for purpose in life. Time to shift thoughts towards whiter pastures:

Snowkite Soldier

Whaddaya think Alberta? Representing in the US of A again?

I'll have cabin fever bad and a serious jones for a road trip by the end of Feb....might not have Skills by then, but might still be a Lot of fun...

macboy - 10-9-2011 at 08:44 PM

I have a feeling once the snow flies here you're gonna pile on the skill like nobody's business!

I would love to go with you. Skyline was amazing and Idaho looks like a totally different experience. I'll start building points with Kim for another solo vacation heh heh

I tried to go last year but it all fell through. I want to go this year (2012). The great thing about a place like that is you don't need much skill to start but you will develop skill quickly as long as conditions are good. Plus a snowkiting video could help. I just still need to get it back from my friend and I will send it off.

Are there any Kite events held during school vacations, like Spring break, winter break, even MLK and Thanks giving?

bobalooie57 - 16-9-2011 at 05:34 PM

The Tug Hill(upstate NY) snowkite festival is usually held MLK weekend.

Oh man I'd so love to go to this, but with my track record of being 0 in 2 to the Edmonton Festival. Let's just say it s not gonna happen for me this time around. (I should seriously get my passport already, and save so I can attend one of the many events next year.)

It is February 23rd-26. Just got posted on facebook yesterday. I got a message and it said Nic liked it too. There were just two of us at the time so I guess we must like the same things. It would be great to see you Canadians there.

Showings Soldier is on my bucket list. Long way from WI, though.

thanson, we could car pool with your Ivanpah.:wee: Do they have a buggy lane?

thanson2001ok - 7-10-2011 at 07:07 PM

<Snowkite> Soldier. (sometimes I hate the auto spelling thingy on my iPad)

Hey, Ched, those Dutchies could pull it off, huh? They'd be in the left lane.:bouncy:

Just plan it and go. That's my home turf too. Tons of area to kite and awesome terrain. Just got a skiff of snow a few days ago out there. Here's a webcam link.
