So, after snowkiting this past season it occurred to me that the options for jackets that allow for the harness to be worn inside the jacket were slim
barring two options that I just was not feeling the design of...
So went to the Burton factory store when we were up at Burlington for Kitestorm and bought a waterproof AK shell that zips open down the side to allow
for easy on/off of the harness and had a waterproof zipper made and sewn into the front jacket pouch. This allows for the harness hook to poke through
when using as a snowkiting jacket and when just snowboarding, it can be zipped up and hidden under the pouch flap and no one is the wiser.
I also did this to an old hoody sweatshirt and it works quite well. I just hate having all the fabric bunched up under the harness - so dang uncomfy.
Just throwing the idea out there in case anyone else can capitalize on it!
Looks like the options continue to grow.dandre - 31-8-2011 at 06:56 AM

Im stoked for winter, well in a couple months anyway. Im supposed to be getting my sweet 2011 11 meter Frenzy this week! Yeahhhhh, bring it!lamrith - 8-9-2011 at 05:49 AM
Being a skier I am also stoked for snow. I always do the snow chant at work to rile one of my co-workers up. Last year was a La Nina year out here,
record snows in Mtn, local resort set record for latest date staying open.. (July 17)
That said I need some time to fly my new baby a bit before the rain starts!:karate:g00fba11 - 8-9-2011 at 10:16 AM
Great job Chud... I have been trying to come up with something like that..... the links to rudeboy's solution is also a great idea..... I had just
cut holes in a sweatshirt and a jacket and then seamed them up to make do....... these ideas are much much better.....
Yes, please snow..... I am so wanting snow...... at least then I when I am learning to fly these turbulent winds I won't be getting my drawers filled
up with dirt and goose crap.... when the wind dies.... and the kite falls into the power zone..... and then a huge gust comes along and superman's
me.....
(the reflexes are getting quicker/better at grabbing the safety when this happens.... a definite positive)snowspider - 8-9-2011 at 10:39 AM
We fly in the park alot and I've told my kid to "quit complaining , it's only goose poop." Winter flying is so much cleaner!Frathouse - 8-9-2011 at 04:06 PM
