Some of you know that at the end of JIBE, i got a dreaded "Plover e-mail". Someone on the "Plover Patrol" on the south end of the island was watching
over a new nest of chicks saw the "shipwreck run" pennants in the sand and freaked. the email thread that was forwarded to me quickly escalated to
"alert law enforcement...".
I just heard back form my contact at the JIA (Jekyll Island Authority), the state agency that runs the island and they said "...It is something we'll
need to make note of for next year, but I would not be worried."
The other telling comment was that they were pleased with our promotion of Jekyll Island and said "... the people who attend your event are always
wonderful to meet."
So clearly you guys have been great ambassadors to the sport and through your interactions with locals have made great impressions. The money you
bring to the island is noticed and does not hurt either, heh heh.
Thanks everybody for helping us to earn good will ( and a bit of clout).arkay - 26-5-2011 at 02:05 PM

Glad to hear that we can all get along! The beach was made for all creatures including the human kind! It was neat riding down to shipwreck and
noticing the orange and blue flags out there marking nest of the turtle kind I believe.
Good job Angus!PHREERIDER - 27-5-2011 at 07:14 AM
pseudo predatory stress, like a kite, would only enhance their rate of survival.
more likely the exhaust from the tour boatS, that enters into the environment AND THEIR FOOD, stands as a KNOWN problem v. the human fear based
assumption of kite predation.

Always wave. Always speak. Never yell. Always know that we represent each other.
Be kind. Smile.
Spread the word!
