Well it has finally happened- I was flying my 12m vortex this afternoon at a state school for the deaf and blind and a security guard informed me that
without permission from the principal i would no longer be allowed to launch or land my HOT AIR BALLOON on their soccer fields anymore and that i was
trespassing. I politely explained that it was only a kite but he refused to listen- guess i am going back to flying at the sheriffs office- they like
to watch me. Have a great day

Take your hot air balloon to the sheriff's office and tell them what's up. Any property that's not private property is state property? You're allowed
to fly there? Guess that means I'm trespassing when I go to school, eh?indigo_wolf - 29-4-2011 at 02:27 PM
Where to begin....
The world would be a better place if you could make a citizen's arrest on criminal stupidity charges (and at what point should it carry a death
penalty? .... can you make a case against repeat offenders?)
Or at the very least, the courts were tolerant of situations where the only sane respond was:

So, I would then see if it would be possible to talk to the principal. Just ask him if it would be ok for you to fly your KITE after school days are
over. He will surely ask why you are asking, politely let him know that a security guard said that it would be best if you got permission. I
wouldn't go into how big the kite is or that it is a POWER kite. Just say kite and leave it at that. If he says ok then ask if you could get it in
writing so that you can show the guard should he show up again.
I think you could handle this diplomatically without much issue. If you have a small tiny kite, offer to take it out and show the principal what it
is. Always better to ask than to just toss in the towel....or....you could get a small power kite and get the security guard interested in it with
some lessons. If ya can't beat em, have em join ya!
Good luck and let us know how it works out.silvereaglekiter - 29-4-2011 at 04:39 PM

I'm with awoc I will talk to the principal when I get back from Vegas I think it will work out alright but will let you all know I just thought the
hot air balloon was too funny. I have permission from the sheriffs in the area to fly in a couple of other spots so should work out I hope. Scottkiteetik - 29-4-2011 at 06:48 PM

My first session with de-power got me almost arrested.....
I try to fly 6m Gin in local park..... In some point I hear cars behind me.... on open field...... 3 police cars stop right behind me.... One
officer jump out of car and scream.... " what plane you jump off "...... someone call Police with info that someone land parachute in park.......
after half hour of waiting for higher rank officer to arrive and decide what to do with me I been ask to proof that this is not a parachute.....
Imagine me trying get it up in air for first time with all cops watching me....... After few minutes I have my first kite lunch ....... fallowed
right after with collapse .....
After that I have 1 officer watching me playing with kite until I pack up and go home.....Seanny - 29-4-2011 at 09:28 PM
