wind range approx

I was wondering if there was a wind range approximation for each size of kite

I do know about this http://downloads.flyozone.com/landkites/downloads/windchart_... but it does not seem to be very accurate.

for the current wind of this month there is just to much to safely fly the manta 15 so I am looking for something a little smaller….. I really love the manta m3 so it will be one of those….. I am thinking about maybe the 8m and wonder if this would be good power in the 16-26 mph range with 35mph gust

right now the 15 is a little difficult and scary to handle in the 16mph winds with 24mph gust on land but its manageable not fun though, the sweet spot is 10-12 mph winds and no gust so much fun and this is what it was like from dec till march

these are my current wind conditions

I think most attempts are too subjective....

...as you just found out. Those ranges are just starting points and often the author is thinking about all disciplines, including snow, where a heavy rider can hold down a lot of kite against an edge, and where some lift is welcome.

Yeah 15m of anything is a bit much on land with 16 gusting to 24. With my 11 m Neo or 15 m Phantom, 8-12 mph is a nice sweet spot for lazy park-and-rides in the buggy.

I had the 8m M3 down the beach for a session - 8m Manta video it was probably 10-13 knots (11-15mph?) and it was not quite enough for the buggy - had to work the kite a lot to keep moving. Spartan also has one and I'm sure I've been buggying with him when it was 20-24 knots and he was doing fine with it - not too much sideways. Mind you, he's a damn good kite flyer.

ps: and yes, those wind range charts are a very rough approximation!

ahh by that it looks like the 8m is what I need : ) the 15m is great for <14 mph just need something for 14mph<kite<24mph range,
wonder if I should get the bar and lines to or it would probably be worth saving the money to just get the kite since they will be the same right?

Eh just put in order in for a manta m3 10m^2 kite : ) should have me covered now lol am tired of waiting for the wind to conform to my needed conditions : )
