I'll be price hunting before making any purchases..so please refrain from commenting on that, unless ofcourse you are selling one for cheap 8)
what I would like to know is, which kite should I get from the above listed? or could you suggest a better kite to do the job.
Thank you very much
bye for now..Bladerunner - 5-4-2011 at 06:42 AM
What are the typical wind speeds you will fly in ?
If jumping is your goal it is best to go bigger. General rule is that you need 5m or more canopy to actually float out a jump. Smaller kites will lift
you but if you don't have perfect timing you will come down hard.
Headworx Don't know
Twister the Blades cheap sister
Rage low lift but very steady kite

Hi mate,
Thanks for the reply
I'll be flying near the beach, west wales coast..I think about 15-20mph.
I don't really want to go flying, I just want a small jump which lasts for about 5-10 seconds.
id also like it to be 4 lines two handles. (infact it has to be exactly this)
EDIT: I like the flexifoil designer, it seems to connect with my inner instinct lol..so I want to focus on getting a flexifoil rage the 3.5 seems
pretty attractive and relieable..

I'm no expert, but a 10 second jump on a fixed bridel kite would probably be considered a fairly big jump! good luck with that.
As the man Bladerunner said, "Rage low lift but very steady kite". you won't get 5 to 10 secs of lift with a 3.5m Rage. no way jose! they are nice
kites and good for just flying, scudding and/or buggying, but they aren't build for lifting. But at your level, you really don't want too much lift
before you know what to do with it, because you'll end up damaged.
If you do actually enjoy pain and getting hurt (and that is you aim), find yourself a 15ft cliff to jump off a couple of times, that should recreate
landing with a 3m blade, and cost you less:wee:nomad - 5-4-2011 at 02:57 PM
the lager the canopy the bigger the lift but what i have gleened is, fixed with handles can drop ya fast, so beware,:o and check out you tube for some
tip videos, Try a big "Pansh" on there web site, cheap and only took 5 days del....
Well worth a look...:Ange09:Bladerunner - 5-4-2011 at 05:24 PM
Sorry about the double post . My laptop acts funny in the morning.
I am happy with 2 seconds of float. Wonder if I have ever had 3? 5 seconds is unlikely and 10 is a pipe dream?
Unfortunately I think you want a paraglider or a speed wing for that kind of float ?RePT - 6-4-2011 at 03:03 PM
sorry lol =p I've just seen a few vids and i think after 10 seconds id be dead, or in hospital with permanant damages :o
I think 2 seconds would be perfect, just ant to get off the ground and move off a few feet tbh :P
the rage 3.5 has caught my eye though..
How much do you guys think I should pay for one? a used one(i've seen one for sale, so id like to get your advice first please)
Thank you very much.indigo_wolf - 6-4-2011 at 04:31 PM
A new Rage 3.5 RTF with handles runs $366 USD. Factor down if used. If you are looking at some of the Rages currently on ebay (UK) read the listing
carefully.
Some of the listings are Kite Only and will require that you purchase decent handles and flying lines that will add to the total cost. There is at
least one Kite Only with a Buy It Now Price of £209.00 which is kind of high for Kite Only.
There are some with low starting bids that you might be able to snag if no one shows interest or if people fall asleep at the computer.
There are several Rage 3.5 available on KiteCrowd.
The last two are older deals, but the sellers haven't taken them down yet.
Patience can always get you a good deal for a crispy kite.

@rept--my bro in law jumps all the time with a 7m flexi bullet, but he's always begging me to bring my blades with me--we jump all the time and blades
work well for us--a beginner ? not so much......Bladerunner - 6-4-2011 at 05:09 PM
Not all kites are good for Jumping. Many are built with stabilaty or pull as the primary function.
Be sure and run your choice through the folks on here. They will give you a good idea if you are getting the right kite at the right price.
This for sale section is one of the best for good kites and prices.RePT - 6-4-2011 at 05:43 PM
Thank you for all the replies...
My main focus is drag(I'll be getting a buggy) with a little bit of jump..I don't want to get something too big for me without the right experience as
I seen a video called "top hat classic" and the guy went really high into the sky..(scared the hell out of me:o)
